Abstract

The article presents a study on the critically endangered Himalayan brown bear which is found in Pakistan. It talks about the conservation program for these bears at the Deosai National Park (DNP), the use of direct counting and camera trapping to assess population size, and the effectiveness of the double observer method. It also examines the impact of humans to the bear population which was revealed in a conflict survey conducted.
