In this paper, the impact of the strong Allee effect and ratio-dependent Holling–Tanner functional response on the dynamical behaviors of a predator–prey system is investigated. First, the positivity and boundedness of solutions of the system are proved. Then, stability and bifurcation analysis on equilibria is provided, with explicit conditions obtained for Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, global dynamics of the system is discussed. In particular, the degenerate singular point at the origin is proved to be globally asymptotically stable under various conditions. Further, a detailed bifurcation analysis is presented to show that the system undergoes a codimension- 1 Hopf bifurcation and a codimension- 2 cusp Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. Simulations are given to illustrate the theoretical predictions. The results obtained in this paper indicate that the strong Allee effect and proportional dependence coefficient have significant impact on the fundamental change of predator–prey dynamics and the species persistence. In this paper, we consider a delayed single population model with patch structure, and investigate Hopf bifurcations when the dispersal rate or the scaling parameter of the growth rate is small. The effect of dispersal patterns is analyzed. We show that dispersal patterns affect the occurrence of Hopf bifurcations when the scaling parameter of the growth rate is small, and affect the values of Hopf bifurcations when the dispersal rate is small. In this paper, we investigate the spatiotemporal dynamics of the Sel'kov–Schnakenberg system. The stability of the positive constant steady state is studied by the linear stability theory. Hopf bifurcation and Turing–Hopf bifurcation are generated by varying two parameters in the model. The normal form near the Turing–Hopf singularity is calculated to explore the complex dynamics of the system. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to verify the theoretical results. Our results show that the Sel'kov–Schnakenberg system exhibits complex dynamics near the Turing–Hopf singularity, including the existence of inhomogeneous steady states, homogeneous periodic solutions and inhomogeneous periodic solutions. In this paper, a Leslie–Gower model with weak Allee effect on prey and fear effect on predator is proposed. Compared with the case without fear effect on predator, the new model undergoes richer dynamic behaviors such as saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. Also, different from the strong Allee effect on prey, the system with weak Allee effect has bistable attractors which are a largely stable limit cycle and a stable positive equilibrium, two stable equilibria, or a stable limit cycle and a stable trivial equilibrium. When the Allee effect coefficient is intermediate, fear effect on the predator can protect the prey and the predator from being extinguished. In this paper, a size-structured population model is studied. Choosing the coefficient of birth function as the varying parameter, we prove the existence of Hopf bifurcation and discuss the bifurcation properties, such as the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcated periodic solutions. The methods used in this paper include Hopf bifurcation theorem, center manifold theorem and normal form theory for the abstract Cauchy problems in a nondense domain. In this paper, an SIRS model with age structure is proposed for recurrent infectious diseases by incorporating infectious delay and temporary immunity delay. Analysis shows that the disease will eventually disappear when the basic reproduction number ℛ 0 < 1. No matter how the infection delay τ 1 changes, as long as the temporary immunity loss delay τ 2 = 0 , the disease transmission will only be endemic and there will be no periodic oscillations when ℛ 0 > 1. Moreover, the stability and Hopf bifurcation will appear as τ 2 increases from zero. It indicates that the duration of temporary immunity can affect the form of disease transmission within the population. Our numerical simulations verified the correctness of the theoretical results. This paper is concerned with a spatial S − I epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate. First, the existence of the equilibrium is discussed in different conditions. Then the main criteria for the stability and instability of the constant steady-state solutions are presented. In addition, the effect of diffusion coefficients on Turing instability is described. Next, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem, the existence and direction of Hopf bifurcation for the ordinary differential equations system and the partial differential equations system are given, respectively. The bifurcation diagrams of Hopf and Turing bifurcations are shown. Moreover, a priori estimates and local steady-state bifurcation are investigated. Furthermore, our analysis focuses on providing specific conditions that can determine the local bifurcation direction and extend the local bifurcation to the global one. Finally, the numerical results demonstrate that the intrinsic growth rate, denoted as r , has significant influence on the spatial pattern. In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear stochastic Duffing oscillators with multidelay feedback. We propose an effective reduction approach with the help of center manifold theory and stochastic averaging method. Taking the initial time-delay τ as the parameter, we reduce the original system to a one-dimensional averaged Itô equation. Our analysis reveals that the original system exhibits stochastic bifurcations, including stochastic D and P bifurcations. Once we have a clear understanding of the bifurcation structure, we can use this knowledge to choose appropriate system parameters and place the system in the desired state. For instance, by adjusting the initial time-delay τ of the control system, we can stabilize the system and achieve the desired outcome. Numerical simulations also verify the theoretical results. With appropriate parameter choices, multiple time delays can destabilize the equilibrium and promote chaotic behaviors, and can also lead to more stable dynamical behavior. Remarkably, we discovered that increasing the interval of time delays and feedback numbers can enhance system stability. It may potentially serve as a novel mechanism for stabilizing stochastic systems. In this paper, we analyze a model called the k-nearest neighbor queue with the possibility of having delayed queue length feedback. We prove fluid limits for the stochastic queueing model and show that the fluid limit converges to a system of delay differential equations. Using the properties of circulant matrices, we derive a closed form expression for the value of the critical delay, which governs whether the delayed information will induce oscillations or a Hopf bifurcation in our queueing system. In this paper, Myc/E2F/miR-17-92 network under Gaussian white noise is studied. Taking the time delay as the parameter, the Hopf bifurcation of the system is obtained, which causes the protein concentration to oscillate periodically. Under the influence of time delay and noise, the stochastic D-bifurcation of the system is obtained. It is worth noting that the occurrence of stochastic P-bifurcation is successfully captured. Thus a pattern of coexistence of high and low protein concentrations is founded in the network. The specific research methods of this paper are as follows: firstly, the system is reduced to a finite dimensional system by using stochastic center manifold and normal form theory. Then, using the stochastic averaging method, the Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equation of the system is constructed in which the statistical response in the stationary state is the probability density. Finally, the stochastic bifurcation analysis and numerical simulation are carried out. In this paper, we propose a Leslie–Gower predator–prey model with strong Allee effect on prey and fear effect on predator. We discuss the existence and local stability of equilibria by making full use of qualitative analytical theory. It is shown that the above system exhibits at most two positive equilibria and it can undergo a series of bifurcation phenomena. We indicate that the dynamical behavior of the model is closely related to the fear effect on predator. In detail, when the fear effect parameter p = p ∗ , the system will undergo degenerate Hopf bifurcation. There exist two limit cycles (the inner is stable and the outer is unstable). However, when p = p ∗ , the system will undergo degenerate Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. Also, by numerical simulation, we conclude that the stronger the fear effect, the bigger the density of prey species. The above shows that fear effect on predator is beneficial to the persistence of the prey species. In this paper, we investigate a quadratic chaotic system modeling self-excited and hidden attractors which is described by a system of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations with three real parameters. The primary goal is to establish the existence of two limit cycles that bifurcate based on the system's nature as an electronic circuits model, specifically via Hopf bifurcation. Notably, the application of the first and second Lyapunov coefficients is utilized to demonstrate the bifurcation of two limit cycles from an equilibrium point near a Hopf critical point. This paper presents the stability and bifurcation of the Hindmarsh–Rose neuronal model with time delay. First, we discuss the existence and stability of the equilibria, revealing that the system can have a maximum of three equilibria which exhibit always stable, always unstable, and stability switching dynamics, depending on the stability of the equilibria when there is no time delay. Furthermore, an explicit formula for the time delay at which Hopf bifurcation occurs is derived, and the direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are also given. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to support our theoretical results. We find that due to the existence of time delay, our system can exhibit many interesting dynamical behaviors depending on the number of equilibria and the increase in time delay. For instance, with increasing time delay, bistability transitions to the coexistence of a periodic solution and a stable equilibrium, followed by the emergence of quasi-periodic motion alongside stable equilibria, and eventually leading to chaotic motion coexisting with a stable equilibrium. A two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear high-speed railway wheelset model with two time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers is studied. The aim is to investigate the effect of time delays on stability and Hopf bifurcation characteristics of the wheelset model. The local stability of the trivial equilibrium under different time delay conditions is qualitatively analyzed. Analytical studies reveal that the wheelset model undergoes stability switches with the variation of the time delays. The stability switches correspond to Hopf bifurcations that occur when the time delays cross critical values. Furthermore, properties of Hopf bifurcation including direction and stability of bifurcating limit cycles are studied by using the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Our findings indicate that time delays in both lateral dampers and yaw dampers influence the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Additionally, the numerical results show that time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers not only affect the amplitude of the hunting motion of the wheelset but also the periodic and chaotic motions. If the time delays gradually increase, the wheelset will vibrate irregularly with large lateral displacements. In this paper, a diffusive zooplankton–phytoplankton model with time delay and hunting cooperation is established. First, the existence of all positive equilibria and their local stability are proved when the system does not include time delay and diffusion. Then, the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium is proved by taking time delay as the bifurcation parameter, and the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are investigated by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory in partial differential equations. Next, according to the theory of Turing bifurcation, the conditions for the occurrence of Turing bifurcation are obtained by taking the intraspecific competition rate of the prey as the bifurcation parameter. In this work, a new glucose–insulin model incorporating time delay and obesity is developed to gain insights of its dynamical mechanisms. Through the method of multiple scales, we theoretically demonstrate that time delay can drive the system to yield Hopf bifurcation, thereby producing oscillating solutions that are consistent with the simulation results. Moreover, obesity changes the level of glucose, but cannot induce oscillations. In particular, it is found that under the combined effect of obesity and time delay, obesity delays the appearance of Hopf bifurcation which is induced by time delay. Results show that a low calorie diet can achieve therapeutic effects including reducing blood glucose fluctuations and insulin resistance, which can be used as an adjuvant for the treatment of diabetes. In addition, our results indicate that the delay, together with an optimal rate of model parameters can cause a variety of dynamics and induce glucose oscillations. The result obtained in this paper may help to better understand the obesity, diabetes, and the interaction between glucose and insulin, so that control strategies can be designed to better regulate blood glucose levels and fluctuations and mitigate the occurrence of type-2 diabetes. In this paper, we consider a spatially size–stage-structured population dynamics model with resting phase. The primary objective of this model is to study size structure, stage structure, resting phase and spatial location simultaneously in a single population system. At first, we reformulate the problem as an abstract nondensely defined Cauchy problem. Then, taking advantage of the integrated semigroup and bifurcation theories, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium of the model. In this paper, we study one type of predator–prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response by incorporating the fear effect into prey species. The existence and stability of all equilibria of the system are studied. And bifurcation behaviors including saddle-node bifurcation, transcritical bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation of the system are completely explored. Numerical simulation is carried out to illustrate the theoretical analysis. It is shown that the fear effect does affect some dynamic behaviors of the system. In this paper, we propose and analyze an age-structured tumor immune model with time delay. We divide immune cells into two kinds. One is those whose growth is independent of tumor and the other is those whose growth depends on the simulation of the tumor. For these cells, their physiological ages are considered. A mature time delay τ is introduced to the tumor-simulation-dependent immune cells to restrict those cells who participate in the immune response to grow to a minimum physiological age. The existence and stability threshold ℜ is established for the tumor-free equilibrium state. If ℜ < 0 , the tumor-free equilibrium state is both locally and globally asymptotically stable. Whereas, when ℜ > 0 , the tumor equilibrium state is locally asymptotically stable if τ ∈ [ 0 , τ k = 0) and a Hopf bifurcation occurs when τ passes through the threshold τ k = 0 . In this paper, we study a delayed host-generalist parasitoid diffusion model subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, where generalist parasitoids are introduced to control the invasion of the hosts. We construct an explicit expression of positive steady-state solution using the implicit function theorem and prove its linear stability. Moreover, by applying feedback time delay τ as the bifurcation parameter, spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation near the positive steady-state solution is proved when τ is varied through a sequence of critical values. This finding implies that feedback time delay can induce spatially inhomogeneous periodic oscillatory patterns. The direction of spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation is forward when parameter m is sufficiently large. We present numerical simulations and solutions to further illustrate our main theoretical results. Numerical simulations show that the period and amplitude of the inhomogeneous periodic solution increase with increasing feedback time delay. Our theoretical analysis results only hold for parameter k when it is sufficiently close to 1, whereas numerical simulations suggest that spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation still occurs when k is larger than 1 but not sufficiently close to 1. Recently, spatial memory and Allee effect have been widely investigated in population models, independently. This paper introduces these two aspects to a predator–prey system, and studies the interaction of two species. Allee effect causes bistability, and the predator-free steady-state is always locally stable. Prey-taxis can play a stable role in positive constant steady-state, and spatial memory delay generates the inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation and even stability switching. In the absence of spatial memory delay, the stronger the predator is subject to the Allee effect, the larger the prey-taxis coefficient is required to keep two species coexist in a stable spatially homogenous form. With the same prey-taxis coefficient, the critical threshold of spatial memory delay corresponding to large predator diffusion coefficient is distinctly bigger than the one corresponding to small predator diffusion coefficient. Hidden chaotic attractors is a fascinating subject of study in the field of nonlinear dynamics. Jerk systems with a stable equilibrium may produce hidden chaotic attractors. This paper seeks to enhance our understanding of hidden chaotic dynamics in jerk systems of three variables (x , y , z) with nonlinear terms from a predefined set: { − x y + d z 2 , − x y + d z tanh (z) } , where d is a real parameter. The behavior of the systems is analyzed using rigorous Hopf bifurcation analysis and numerical simulations, including phase portraits, bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov spectra, and basins of attraction. For certain jerk systems with a subcritical Hopf bifurcation, adjusting the coefficient of a linear term can lead to hidden chaotic behavior. The adjustment modifies the subcritical Hopf equilibrium, transforming it from an unstable state to a stable one. One such jerk system, while maintaining its equilibrium stability, experiences a sudden transition from a point attractor to a stable limit cycle. The latter undergoes a period-doubling route to chaos, which may be followed by a reverse route. Therefore, by perturbing certain jerk systems with a subcritical Hopf equilibrium, we can gain insights into the formation of hidden chaotic attractors. Furthermore, adjusting the coefficient of the nonlinear term z tanh (z) in certain systems with a stable equilibrium can also lead to period-doubling routes or reverse period-doubling routes to hidden chaotic dynamics. In this paper, we study a classic mutualistic relationship between the leaf cutter ants and their fungus garden, establishing a time delay mutualistic system with stage structure. We investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distribution of the roots of the associated characteristic equation. In this paper, we investigate an epidemic model with quarantine and recovery-age effects. Reformulating the model as an abstract nondensely defined Cauchy problem, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the model and study the stability of the steady state based on the basic reproduction number. The Investment Savings-Liquidity preference Money supply (IS-LM) model is represented as a graph depicting the intersection of products and the money market. It elaborates how an equilibrium of money supply versus interest rates may keep the economy in control. In this paper, we combine the basic business cycle IS-LM model with Kaldor's growth model in order to create an augmented model. The IS-LM model, when coupled with a certain economics expansion (in our instance, the Kaldor–Kalecki Business Cycle Model), provides a comprehensive description of a developing but robust economy. Right after the introduction of capital stock into the system, it cannot be employed and also, while making some investment choices, this requires some time in execution, which ultimately alters resources, i.e. capital. Thus, in the capital accumulation, we will be incorporating double time delays in Gross product and Capital Stock. These time delays represent the time periods during which investment decisions were made and executed and the time spent in order for the capital to be put to productive use. After formulating a mathematical model using delayed differential equations, dynamic functioning of the system around equilibrium point is examined where three instances appeared based on time delays. These cases are: when both delays are not in action, when only one delay is in action and when both delays are in action. It is shown that time delay affects the stability of the equilibrium point and, as the delay crosses a critical point, Hopf bifurcation exists. It is observed that by using Kaldor type investment function, the delay residing in capital stock only will destabilize in less time as compared to when both the delays are present in the system. The Leslie–Gower model, a kind of predator–prey model with weak Allee effect, is studied in this paper. The existence and stability of non-negative equilibria are first discussed. Then, we investigate several bifurcation phenomena undergoing positive equilibria, such as saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation, etc. Some possible dynamical behaviors of this model are illustrated by numerical simulation. The bifurcation diagrams for the cases of codimensions 2 and 3 are given respectively. The coexistence of a periodic cycle and a homoclinic cycle, and two limit cycles enclosing an unstable equilibrium are also proved. Throughout the last few decades, fractional-order models have been used in many fields of science and engineering, applied mathematics, and biotechnology. Fractional-order differential equations are beneficial for incorporating memory and hereditary properties into systems. Our paper proposes an asymptomatic COVID-19 model with three delay terms τ 1 , τ 2 , τ 3 and fractional-order α. Multiple constant time delays are included in the model to account for the latency of infection in a vector. We study the necessary and sufficient criteria for stability of steady states and Hopf bifurcations based on the three constant time-delays, τ 1 , τ 2 , and τ 3 . Hopf bifurcation occurs in the addressed model at the estimated bifurcation points τ 1 0 , τ 2 0 , τ 3 0 , and τ 1 0 * . The numerical simulations fit to real observations proving the effectiveness of the theoretical results. In the course of reverse transcription, drug-sensitive strain can mutate to a drug-resistant one. Cell-to-cell transmission is proved to be more efficient than virus-to-cell infection. The population of Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes (CTLs) can be divided into CTL precursors and CTL effectors. Naive CTL precursors are those that never have contacted antigen, circulating around the body. Once the host is infected, CTL precursors (CTLp) begin to proliferate and differentiate into CTL effectors (CTLe), which have antiviral activity. In this paper, we study an HIV model with drug-sensitive and drug-resistant mixed strains, CTLp and CTLe, both viral and cellular infections. The basic reproduction ratios for each strain are derived and the stability of each feasible equilibrium is analyzed by using Routh–Hurwitz criteria. The periodic solutions may occur near the equilibrium with CTL immune response via Hopf bifurcation. In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion model with delay and Robin boundary condition in heterogeneous environment. The existence, multiplicity and stability of spatially nonhomogeneous steady-state solutions and periodic solutions are studied by employing the Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction method. Moreover, the Hopf bifurcation direction is derived. It is observed that Robin boundary condition plays a crucial role in the Hopf bifurcation. More precisely, when the boundary effect is stronger than the interaction of the species within the region, there is no Hopf bifurcation no matter how the time delay τ changes. This paper is concerned with the spatiotemporal heterogeneity in a modified Leslie–Gower predator–prey system with Beddington–DeAngelis functional response and prey-taxis. Using Crandall–Rabinowitz bifurcation theory, we investigate the steady-state bifurcation of the nonlinear system by choosing the prey-tactic sensitivity coefficient as a bifurcating parameter. It is rigorously proved that a branch of nonconstant solution exists near the positive equilibrium when the prey-tactic sensitivity is repulsive. Moreover, we study the existence, direction and stability of periodic orbits around the interior constant equilibrium by selecting the intrinsic growth rate of the prey as a bifurcating parameter. This paper investigates the nonlinear bifurcation and chaos characteristics of piezoelectric composite lattice sandwich plates at 1:3 internal resonance. The nonlinear vibration partial differential equation is first discretized to become an ordinary differential equation by applying the Galerkin method. The main resonance modulation equations and the parametric resonance for the external excitation frequency that is close to the system's second-order modal frequency are then obtained by using the multiscale method. The Newton–Raphson method is subsequently applied to obtain the bifurcation diagram of the steady-state equilibrium of modulation equation with varying system parameters. The equilibrium stability is finally analyzed. We confirm the existence of static bifurcation such as saddle-node bifurcation, pitchfork bifurcation, and Hopf dynamic bifurcation. A detailed analysis is also conducted on the complex nonlinear jump phenomenon caused by the presence of multiple nonlinear steady-state solution regions. In the dynamic Hopf bifurcation interval, the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method is used to continue to track the dynamic periodic solution of the modulation equation in Cartesian coordinates. In this paper, we consider a food chain model with ratio-dependent functional response and prey-taxis. We first investigate the global existence and boundedness of the unique positive classical solutions of the system in a bounded domain with smooth boundary and Neumann boundary conditions. Then, we analyze the local stability of the system and the existence of Hopf bifurcation. In addition, we prove the global asymptotic stability of steady states under some conditions by constructing a Lyapunov functional, and investigate convergence rates. In real-world networks, due to complex topological structures and uncertainties such as time delays, uncontrolled systems may generate instability and complexity, thereby degrading network performance. This paper provides a detailed analysis of the stability, Hopf bifurcation, and complex dynamics of a networked system under delayed feedback control. Based on the linear stability method and Hopf bifurcation theorem, the stability of the equilibrium of the error system and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are studied. The stability of periodic solutions bifurcating from the trivial equilibrium is analyzed using normal form theory and central manifold theorem. Special focus is on the effects of the network topology and time delays on the stability and Hopf bifurcation. The theoretical results are also extended to the complex networks with asymmetric adjacent matrices. In addition, the controlled model exhibits complicated dynamical behavior via three types of codimension two bifurcations and period-doubling bifurcations that eventually lead to chaos. Numerical experiments have validated the theoretical results and indicated that delayed feedback control can effectively generate or annihilate the complicated behavior of complex networks. In this paper, we study the codimensions of Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of a predator–prey model with alternative prey and prey refuges, which was proposed by Chen et al. [2023]. The results show that the predator–prey model can undergo a supercritical Hopf bifurcation or a Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension two under certain parameter conditions. It means that there are some predator–prey models with an alternative prey and prey refuges which have a limit cycle or a homoclinic loop. The harm caused by rumors is immeasurable. Studying the dynamic characteristics of rumors can help control their spread. In this paper, we propose a nonsmooth rumor model with a nonlinear propagation rate. First, we utilize the positive invariant regions to prove the boundedness of solutions. Second, we analyze the conditions for the existence of equilibrium points in both the left and right systems. Additionally, we confirm the occurrence of saddle-node bifurcation in the left system. Next, by considering the influence of spatial diffusion, we establish the conditions for Turing instability. Then we discuss the conditions for spatial homogeneous and inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcations in the left and right systems, respectively. We differentiate between supercritical and subcritical bifurcations using the Lyapunov coefficient. Furthermore, we examine the conditions for the existence of discontinuous Hopf bifurcation at the demarcation point. Finally, in the numerical simulation section, we validate our theorems on Turing patterns. We also investigate the impact of parameter changes on rumor propagation and conclude that an increase in the psychological inhibitory factor significantly reduces the rate of rumor propagation, providing an effective strategy for curbing rumors. In this paper, we introduce Allee effect and predator competition in the Bazykin's model with Holling I functional response. Theoretically, we analyze the existence and stability of equilibria, and derive the existence conditions of saddle-node bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation. In addition, in order to determine the stability of limit cycles, we explicitly calculate the first Lyapunov coefficient and prove that the positive equilibrium is not a center, but a weak focus with a multiplicity of at least two. Therefore, the system has Hopf bifurcation and Bautin bifurcation with two limit cycles. Our results indicate that the Allee effect and predator competition lead to a series of complex dynamic phenomena. Finally, numerical simulation verifies the effectiveness of the theoretical results. The existence, direction and stability of Hopf bifurcating periodic orbits near the positive spatially nonhomogeneous steady state of a reaction–diffusion–advection model with distributed delay and Dirichlet boundary condition are considered in this paper. By analyzing the characteristic equation and taking the bound of time delay as the bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation will occur when the shape parameter n ≥ 1 , and the positive steady state is always stable when n = 0. The properties of Hopf bifurcations are then obtained by center manifold reduction and norm form methods. The effects of the distributed delay, shape parameter and advection on Hopf bifurcation values are also investigated. In this paper, the dynamics of a ratio-dependent predator–prey model with strong Allee effect and Holling IV functional response is investigated by using dynamical analysis. The model is shown to have complex dynamical behaviors including subcritical or supercritical Hopf bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension-2, a nilpotent focus or cusp of codimension-2. The codimension-2 Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation point acts as an organizing center for the whole bifurcation set. The coexistence of stable and unstable positive equilibria, homoclinic cycle is also found. Our analysis shows that the ratio-dependent model may collapse suddenly due to certain parameter variation, i.e. the numbers of predator and prey will decrease sharply to zeroes after undergoing a short time of sustained oscillations with small amplitudes. Of particular interest is that the coalescence of saddle-node bifurcation point and Hopf bifurcation point may indicate the occurrence of relaxation oscillations and the critical state of extinction of predator and prey. In this paper, we apply bifurcation theory to consider four predator–prey systems which include the Allee effect, and show that the species having a strong Allee effct may affect their predation and hence extinction risk. It is shown that the models with the Allee effect exhibit more complex dynamical behaviors compared with that without the Allee effect. In particular, two models with no Allee effect do not have Hopf bifurcation, but can have Hopf bifurcation with the Allee effect; and one model, which does not have Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation if no Allee effect is involved, can have Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension two. Especially, for one model with Holling type II functional response of the predator to the prey, the Allee effect not only completely changes the stability of the equilibrium at the origin, but also changes the supercritical Hopf bifurcation arising from an interior equilibrium to subcritical Hopf bifurcation with very limited parameter values to yield unstable limit cycles, and further increases the system's stability. In this paper, we study queueing systems with delayed information that use a generalization of the multinomial logit choice model as its arrival process. Previous literature assumes that the functional form of the multinomial logit model is exponential. However, in this work we generalize this to different functional forms. In particular, we compute the critical delay and analyze how it depends on the choice of the functional form. We highlight how the functional form of the model can be interpreted as an exponential model where the exponential rate parameter is uncertain. Furthermore, the rate parameter distribution is given by the inverse Laplace–Stieltjes transform of the functional form when it exists. In this paper, we consider an SI epidemic model incorporating additive Allee effect and time delay. The primary purpose of this paper is to study the dynamics of the above system. Firstly, for the model without time delay, we demonstrate the existence and stability of equilibria for three different cases, i.e. with weak Allee effect, with strong Allee effect, and in the critical case. We also investigate the existence and uniqueness of Hopf bifurcation and limit cycle. Secondly, for the model with time delay, the stability of equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are discussed. In this paper, time-delayed sampled-data feedback control technique is used to asymptotically stabilize a class of unstable delayed differential systems. Through the analysis for the distribution change of eigenvalues, an effective interval of the control parameter is obtained for a given sampling period. Here an indirect strategy is taken. Specifically, the system of continuous-time delayed feedback control is studied first by Hopf bifurcation theory. And then, the result and implicit function theorem are used to analyze the system of time-delayed sampled-data feedback control with a sufficiently small sampling period. Considering the practical criterion for the size of sampling period, the upper bound of sampling period is estimated. Finally, an application example, an unstable Mackey–Glass model, is asymptotically stabilized by introducing a blood transfusion item with time-delayed sampled-data feedback control. The blood transfusion speed and blood collection test period are derived from the main results. Some simulations and comparisons show the correctness and advantages of the main theoretical results. In this paper, the influence of PM 2. 5 on children's respiratory diseases is taken as the main research focus. Based on the real monitoring data of children's respiratory diseases in Anhui province, the traditional model is modified substantially, leading to the establishment of two mathematical models. First of all, considering that the PM 2. 5 changes over time, a nonautonomous air pollution-related disease model is constructed to study its permanence and extinction. Furthermore, regarding lag days of PM 2. 5 exposure, an air pollution-related disease model with the lag effect is installed and its local and global stabilities and Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Meanwhile, the above two models are numerically simulated, respectively. Our study demonstrates that the threshold conditions of permanence and extinction are obtained by the nonautonomous air pollution-related disease model, and the optimal parameters are obtained through the annual revision of the data by integrating the mathematical model, such that the number of children with respiratory diseases in the future can be checked and predicted. Also our study finds that the lag days of PM 2. 5 exposure have little effect on children with respiratory diseases in the air pollution-related disease model with a lag effect, but the PM 2. 5 has a tremendous influence on the number of patients. Once the lag days are combined with the effect of the PM 2. 5 , it can have a significant impact on the patients' number, e.g. an emergence of periodic oscillations, with an approximate period of 11 days in Anhui Province, due to the Hopf bifurcation. This note revisits an extended Lorenz system, which was presented in the paper entitled “Hopf bifurcations in an extended Lorenz system” by Zhou et al. [2017]. On the one hand, one points out and corrects some wrong results in that paper on the Hopf bifurcation at the symmetric equilibria A and A ′ . On the other hand, combining Lyapunov function and the concepts of α - and ω -limit sets, it is rigorously proved that there exists two and only two heteroclinic trajectories but no homoclinic trajectories under some certain conditions of its parameters and initial values. In addition, numerical simulations illustrate the consistence with the theoretical conclusions. In this paper, we propose a delayed mathematical model describing oncolytic virotherapy treatment of a tumour that proliferates according to the logistic growth function, incorporating viral lytic cycle. The tumour population cells are divided into uninfected and infected cell sub-populations and the virus spreading is supposed to be in a direct mode (i.e. from cell to cell). Depending on the time delay, we analyze the positivity and boundedness of solutions and the stability of tumour, infected and uninfected free equilibria (TFE, IFE, UFE) and uninfected–infected equilibrium (UIE) is established. We prove that, delay can lead to "Jeff's phenomenon" observed in a laboratory which causes oscillations in tumour size whose phase and period change over time. With nonlinear dependence of UIE equilibrium on time delay, we develop a more general algorithm determining the stability/instability of the oscillating periodic solutions bifurcating from the UIE equilibrium. It is well known that dynamical systems are very useful tools to study viral diseases such as HIV, HBV, HCV, Ebola and Influenza. This paper focuses on a mathematical model of the cell-to-cell and the cell-free spread of HIV with both linear and nonlinear functional responses and logistic target cell growth. The reproduction number of each mode of transmission has been calculated and their sum has been considered as the basic reproduction number. Based on the values of the reproduction number, the local and global stabilities of the rest points are investigated. Choosing a suitable bifurcation parameter, some conditions for the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation are also obtained. Moreover, numerical simulations are presented to support the analytical results. Finally, to study the effect of the drug on the disease process, some control conditions are determined. Since two modes of transmission and both linear and nonlinear functional responses have been included in this manuscript, our obtained results are a generalization of those in the literature. A fractional-order three-species food chain ecosystem with prey refuge and Holling-II type functional response for predation is proposed and studied. Several sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the fractional-order system are obtained. The boundedness of the solution of the system is proven. We investigate the asymptotic behavior of the model by using eigenvalue analysis, and some sufficient conditions on local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium points are given. Furthermore, the conditions for the occurrence of bifurcation at some equilibrium points are presented. We find that the order of the proposed fractional-order ecosystem is one of the parameters for its bifurcation. Several numerical simulations are provided to show the effectiveness of our findings in this paper. Lastly, some new numerical simulations are given to discuss the influence of the half-saturation constant, prey refuge coefficient and the order of fractional-order derivative on the stability of the discussed fractional-order system. To reduce the global burden of mosquito-borne diseases, e.g. dengue, malaria, the need to develop new control methods is to be highlighted. The sterile insect technique (SIT) and various genetic modification strategies, have a potential to contribute to a reversal of the current alarming disease trends. In our previous work, the ordinary differential equation (ODE) models with different releasing sterile mosquito strategies are investigated. However, in reality, implementing SIT and the releasing processes of sterile mosquitos are very complex. In particular, the delay phenomena always occur. To achieve suppression of wild mosquito populations, in this paper, we reassess the effect of the delayed releasing of sterile mosquitos on the suppression of interactive mosquito populations. We extend the previous ODE models to the delayed releasing models in two different ways of releasing sterile mosquitos, where both constant and exponentially distributed delays are considered, respectively. By applying the theory and methods of delay differential equations, the effect of time delays on the stability of equilibria in the system is rigorously analyzed. Some sustained oscillation phenomena via Hopf bifurcations in the system are observed. Numerical examples demonstrate rich dynamical features of the proposed models. The main aim of this paper is to study the oscillatory behaviors of gene expression networks in quorum-sensing system with time delay. The stability of the unique positive equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are investigated by choosing the time delay as the bifurcation parameter and by applying the bifurcation theory. In this paper, we consider a tritrophic food chain model with Holling functional response types III and IV for the predator and superpredator, respectively. The main attention is focused on the stability and bifurcation of equilibria when the prey has a linear growth. Coexistence of different species is shown in the food chain, demonstrating bistable phenomenon. Hopf bifurcation is studied to show complex dynamics due to multiple limit cycles bifurcation.
