Summary: Intelligent Transport System (ITS) involves a number of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) interventions for efficient road safety management. Over the last few decades, there has been a significant increase in the safety of Vulnerable Road Users (VRU's). This study aims to identify the most frequent, regularly occurring causes of road accidents and outline actions that can be used as a baseline for improving road traffic safety. The main contributions in this paper include the following: a graphical investigation for finding out the overall rate of road accidents (injuries and deaths) in India. Based on graphical analysis, major loopholes responsible for road accidents in India are summed up. This paper discusses various issues faced by already available pedestrian and vehicular safety techniques. After analysis of the available techniques and their related case studies in a systematic way, it is observed that they are not able to overcome the loopholes (Collision Occurrence, Traffic Congestion, Pedestrian Crossing alert, Red Light violation, and Non‐Propagation of Distress Signal) present in the current "Road Transport Management (RTM) System" of India. Finally, after deep analysis of already available techniques, a futuristic approach "Mesh‐Networking based Vehicle Ad‐Hoc System (MN‐VAS) using hybrid of Neuro‐Fuzzy and Genetic Algorithm based Load Balancing on Node" is proposed for the safety of VRU's. Summary: Agriculture plays an important role in the growth of agriculture nation like India. The main source of water is essential for agriculture. The irrigation process supplies water, but sometimes the wastage of water may occur. For this reason, the irrigation control scheme in wireless sensor network (WSN) using Internet of things (IoT) is developed to save water and time. This paper presents an ANFIS‐PEGASIS: Irrigation control system‐data gathering in WSN using IoT. The process of the fuzzy inference system (FIS) is utilized for an optimum cluster head (CH) selection that depends on the distance and residual energy. After that, the power‐efficient gathering in sensor information system (PEGASIS) is used for the data collecting process in irrigation structure. PEGASIS is to make a chain between the sensor nodes (SNs), and every node communicates to the CH, and it's transferring the data to the base station (BS). Finally, the decision‐making process can be implemented by adaptive neuro‐FIS (ANFIS) for the automated irrigation process. ANFIS is a useful tool for the decision‐making process. Here, based on the information delivered by the sensors, the decisions are generated using ANFIS for the irrigation system. In the system, the various sensors like humidity, temperature, light intensity, and soil moisture are utilized to sense the different parameters of soil. Based on the value of soil moisture, the land becomes automatically irrigated by ON/OFF, the lamp, and the water pump. Summary: The concept of green computing is a step toward advanced information technology‐related data computations. There is an urgent need to develop sustainable mobile telecommunication networks subscribed by Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). This paper aims at deploying major recommendations and directions in computing systems directed by regulating authorities. Green computing–based power‐saving policies include virtualization technique, power‐saving method, and recycling technique‐type solution components that we tried to embed in existing systems. The energy‐efficient green computing reserves the reliability and power of information‐driven technology. This research paper provides a comprehensive approach toward applying green mechanism by spotting the difference between energy consumption of current academic scenario and after embedding power‐saving policies of green computing. Moreover, an account has been maintained about the amount of energy preservation. Summary: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are autonomous fliers, which can play different roles in modern day applications. In one of the important role, UAVs can act as aerial data forwarding nodes for communication range enhancement in remote areas. UAVs form a web of drones, which can be geo‐distributed across a large area to serve various applications. However, the two major contradicting challenges with respect to multi‐UAV networks are channel congestion and flight time enhancement. The use of effective data transmission techniques to handle congestion can lead to higher battery dissipation, which in turn end up in the reduction in flight time. However, it is utmost necessity to provide an effective framework, which can provide a viable solution for handling congestion in multi‐UAV networks while enhancing the flight time of UAVs. To handle these issues, software‐defined network (SDN)–enabled opportunistic offloading and charging scheme (SOOCS) in multi‐UAV ecosystem is designed in this paper. In this scheme, an opportunistic offloading scheme is proposed, which uses an SDN‐based control model to handle congestion issues. Apart from this, an opportunistic energy‐charging scheme is designed, wherein the UAVS can either replenish their batteries using solar plates or they can wirelessly charge energy from charging points deployed at various geo‐distributed locations. The proposed scheme is evaluated using a simulation‐based study over the realistic deployment of charging points in Chandigarh City, India. The results obtained show the superiority of SOOCS over other variants of its category in terms of end‐to‐end delay, throughput, and hand‐over latency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
