Abstract

This paper presents a comparison study among three bio-inspired optimization algorithms applied to solve the power system stabilizers tuning problem: Ant Colony Optimization, Bat Algorithm and Genetic Algorithm. The tuning procedure is formulated as an optimization problem which aims at minimizing the system damping taking into account a set of pre-specified operating scenarios.
