The study aims to evaluate global research output (103054 records) on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) based on quantitative and qualitative indicators. It presents a bibliometric profile of most influential countries, organizations, authors and journals and their collaborative linkages, besides identifying broad subject areas of research, most significant keywords and highly-cited papers related to COVID-19. During 2020-21, more than 150 countries participated in COVID-19 research, of which top 10 countries accounted for a 82.93% global share. The USA, China and U.K. produced the most articles (25.86%, 10.77% and 10.7% respectively). The top three organizations, namely Harvard Medical School, USA, Huazhong University of S&T, China and Tongji Medical College, China contributed 1755, 1344 and 1267 papers, respectively. The most cited organizations in COVID-19 research are: Peking Union Medical College, China (97.41 CPP), University of Hong Kong (82.17 CPP) and Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, China (59.88 CPP). The top three most productive authors are: V. Wanitlit, E. Mahase and G. Lacobucci (with 152, 135 and 108 papers). The top three most cited authors in terms of citations per paper (CPP) are: Y. Hu (319.82), L. Liu (303.91) and J.F.W. Chan (169.55). The most productive organizations originate from most productive countries and they contribute the most collaborative papers. The top three journals, namely International Journal of Environmental Research, BMJ and PLOS One contributed 961, 854 and 781 papers, respectively. The top three journals in terms of citations per paper (CPP) are New England Journal of Medicine (122.78), The Lancet (106.3) and JAMA (75.17). The most ubiquitous topic was COVID-19 clinical studies, with maximum focus on virological aspects (9.58%), respiratory aspects (6.97%), molecular aspects (3.11%), genetic aspects (3.09%) and immunological aspects (1.3%). Background: Mucormycosis is an invasive fungal infection that has shown a surge during the COVID-19 pandemic. A comprehensive assessment of COVID-19 associated mucormycosis (CAM) research is lacking. Methods: We searched Elsevier's Scopus database for publications on CAM using a pre-defined search strategy. Data on publications numbers, citation metrics, contributing countries, institutions, authors, journals, and the most cited articles were analyzed using select bibliometric tools. Results: Published CAM research included 253 publications. These were cited 1560 times, averaging 6.1 citations per paper. Only 33 (13%) were funded. Original articles (55.7%) and reviews (17.7%) constituted the major share of global output. The studied age groups included adults (22.5%), middle-aged (19.3%), elderly (10.6%), and adolescents (0.8%). Studies on treatment accounted for the largest share (58.5%), followed by clinical studies (28.0%), complications (17.3%), risk factors (11.7%), epidemiology (7.9%), and pathophysiology (3.1%). The participating countries were 64; India, the USA, and Egypt led in productivity, whereas France, the USA, and Iran were more impactful. Of the 84 organizations, the leading organizations were PGIMER-Chandigarh, AIIMS-New Delhi and Cairo University, Egypt. A. Chakrabarti, V. Muthu, and S.M. Rudramurthy were the most productive of 160 participating authors. Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, and Journal of Fungi were the most active journals that published CAM research. Conclusion: Research on CAM has primarily been conducted in middleincome countries and is low on quality. High-income countries need to collaborate with lowand middle-income countries for a sustainable and universal CAM research impact. Objectives: The characteristic symptom of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is respiratory distress, but neurological symptoms are the most frequent extra-pulmonary symptoms. This study aims to explore the current status and hot topics of "Post Covid-19 Impact on Cognitive Impairment", using bibliometric analysis. The aim was to identify, explore the current trends and present status and hot topics related to this topic, using quantitative and qualitative methods and indicators. Methodology: Publications "Post Covid-19 Impact on Cognitive Impairment" were retrieved from the Scopus database on 4 July 2023. The Advanced search was conducted using the following pre-defined search strategy involving keywords related to "Covid-19" and "Cognitive Impairment". Microsoft Excel 2010 and VOSviewer were used to characterize the largest contributors, including the authors, journals, institutions, and countries. The hot topics and knowledge network were analyzed by VOSviewer. Results: A total of 467 publications between 2020 and 2023 were identified and retrieved, with a steady increase in annual publications. The USA (n=131), Italy (n=62), and the U.K (n=41) were three key contributors to this field. The U.K. (58.87 and 2.73), Canada (28.38 and 1.32) and USA (27.80 and 1.29) were the countries with highest citation influence, in terms of CPP and RCI. The University of Toronto, Canada (n=17), INSERM, France and AP-HP Assistance Publique - Hopitaux de Paris, France (n=13 each) were the major institutions with the largest publications. The Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Spain (82.67 and 3.84), University of Toronto, Canada (45.35 and 2.11) and King's College London, U.K. (42.83 and 1.99) were the institutions with highest citation influence (CPP and RCI). The C. Franke (Germany), F. Landi (Italy) and I. Margalit (Israel) (n=4 each) were the most prolific authors. The H.E. Davis (USA) (284.0 and 13.18), P. Dudouet (France) (66.33 and 3.08) and C. Eldin (France) (66.33 and 3.08) were the authors with highest citation influence. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (n=17), Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (n=9) and Frontiers in Immunology (n=8) were the most productive journals, while Alzheimers and Dementia (341.2), EClinical Medicine (236.75) and Brain Behavior and Immunity (68.5) were on top journals in citation impact (CPP and RCI). Covid-19 (n=450), Cognitive defect (n=438), Long Covid (n=346), Fatigue (n=227), Depression (n=169), Dyspnea (n=146) and Headache (n=117) were the central and significant keywords regarding the "Post Covid-19 Impact on Cognitive Impairment" topic. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis mapped the overall research structure of "Post Covid-19 Impact on Cognitive Impairment" theme and analyzed the current research trends and hotspots for future studies orientation. SARS-CoV-2, commonly referred as COVID-19, has emerged as the most severe public health concern of the twenty - first century. Coronavirus usually is not very lethal to the persons who do not have any medical conditions, but it is fatal to people who have had past medical conditions that have often resulted in death. The objectives of this paper is to look at the effects of coronavirus on older diabetes patients, who are thought to be the ones who were affected the most by COVID-19. This research used a qualitative approach and was descriptive in nature. The researcher has purposefully chosen three areas in Dhaka city as the studies fixate: Shahbag, Khilgaon, and Rampura. Data was gathered using qualitative methods such as focus group discussion and key informant interviews. According to the study's findings, COVID-19 had a serious effect on older adults with diabetes. The number of patients at the hospital had significantly decreased. Despite the fact that hospitals were equipped to provide treatment and care, patients' mobility was limited. Many people preferred virtual consultation or telemedicine to face-to-face consultation and care. Doctors encouraged individuals to connect digitally, which is both safe and feasible in the face of the global pandemic. The expense of a diabetic patient rose, according to the majority of respondents. According to the findings, the pandemic is spurring new diabetes-care delivery methods. Aim: This paper aims at investigating the sub-health status (SHS) of different social roles during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and analyzing its influencing factors. Design: A cross-sectional, convenience sampling including 1062 Chinese was conducted in March 2020. Statistical analysis was then performed for the data using SPSS 22.0. Results: The total SHS score for people with different social roles during the COVID-19 pandemic was 72.808±12.034; with the physical, psychological and social adaptive score were 80.252±12.336, 68.753±13.281 and 66.632±18.604 respectively. Univariate analysis showed that SHS scores for social adaptability were different in different places of residence, as well as physical, psychological and total SHS scores for different social roles (P< 0.05). The multivariate analysis showed that the social roles were a factor influencing the physical SHS score (P < 0.05), while gender was the factor influencing the psychological SHS score (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Human resource management needs improvement; meanwhile health consultation, enough time to rest and health care service are essential for medical staff, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel, as well as couriers. Support to maintain work-family balance is seriously expected for female employees. Overall, the top priority in controlling COVID-19 is to protect their health both mentally and physically. Introduction: Responding to raised demand for health services during the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries turned to private healthcare providers to augment public capacities. In India, to deal with price inflation by private hospitals, many state governments implemented regulation of rates for COVID-19 treatment. Materials and Methods: In Maharashtra which pioneered the hospital rate regulation among Indian states, we conducted a mixed-methods study to examine the impact of rate regulation. Using purposive sampling, we interviewed 100 previously hospitalised COVID patients or their relatives, along with 12 health sector stakeholders. Results: Analysis shows that in 82.5% of hospitalisation episodes, patients were overcharged compared to official packages The majority of private hospitals utilised diverse stratagems to circumvent rate regulations, including double charging on items included in official packages. Conclusion: With a background of commercialisation of healthcare and pre-existing regulatory hiatus in India, gaps in design and implementation of COVID-period regulatory measures and state's inadequate regulatory capacity formed the context for the limited effectiveness of regulatory measures. India and other LMICs with large private healthcare sectors should develop comprehensive yet pragmatic frameworks for regulating private healthcare, including standardisation of rates, which can strengthen regulatory efforts, enabling equitable and affordable access to healthcare for all. Background: The private health sector has a significant role in the delivery of health services in India. However, given fast changing COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical to understand the role of the private health sector in delivery of services going forward. The supply of COVID-19 vaccines is firmly regulated by the Government of India and the private sector received unrestricted access to vaccine supply directly from manufacturers from June 2021 onwards. Materials and Methods: PATH carried out a rapid assessment of private health facilities in the state of Maharashtra to understand the challenges faced by private facilities in providing COVID-19 vaccination. Results: During the assessment it was found that 100% of the private health facilities have a robust cold chain system which is essential for safe storage of COVID-19 vaccines and delivery of immunization services. The in-charges of the health facilities reported difficulty in estimating requirement of COVID-19 vaccines doses, as 67% of the beneficiaries in Mumbai and Nashik were direct walk-ins. During the assessment 93.3% of the facilities were observed to have adequate availability of COVID-19 vaccines doses, based on the beneficiary registration data for the day. Ministry of Health, Government of India, recommends a trained 5-member vaccination team for providing services at each vaccination site. Conclusion: The key challenges faced by private health facilities during delivery of COVID-19 immunization were associated with differential vaccine pricing, time taken to receive supply of vaccines, difficulties in accurately estimating vaccine demand, multiple record keeping at the facility level and declining vaccine demand. Background: Sub-health status (SHS) is an intermediate status between health and disease. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of sub-health status among college students during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and analyze its influencing factors in order to provide basic information to increase the health level of college students. Methods: College students were selected as subjects from Guangzhou Baiyun Technician College Business using convenience sampling. The inclusion criteria was informed consent, current college students who voluntarily participated in this survey. Exclusion criteria were to complete the questionnaire in less than two minutes. General data questionnaire, daily lifestyle questionnaire, and SHS measurement scale were used to survey college students. The SHS measurement scale consists of three subscales covering the physiological (1-14 items), psychological (16-27 items), and social (29-37 items) dimensions, with 39 items in total. The items 15, 28, 38 and 39 were used for the overall evaluation of the health status within each dimension and would not be taken into account for the score rating. A commonly used 5-point Likert scale was developed to incorporate the positive items, including questions 1-3, 13-19, and 26-39 with a scaled score equal to the raw score at 1-5; while negative items including questions 4-12 and 20-25 with a scaled score equal to 6 min the raw score. For each subscale, the sum of all item scores was the raw score. The total raw score was calculated as the sum of raw scores derived from all 3 sub-scales. For any individual dimension, a lower score indicated higher severity of SHS. For sub-scales and the whole scale, raw scores were converted into percentile scores for statistical analysis. Converted score = (raw score - minimum theoretical score) / (maximum theoretical score - minimum theoretical score) × 100. The highest and lowest converted scores of the three subscales were 0 and 100 respectively. In this study, analysis of subhealth was performed using converted scores for all subscales and the whole scale. Based on the sub-health measurement scale, the health condition of subjects would be assessed as disease status (scored < 54), SHS (scored 54 to 79) and health status. From March 6 to 16, 2020, an online survey was conducted via wjx.cn (an online platform available for questionnaire sources). A total of 16,163 students filled out the questionnaire. Results: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the detected prevalence of sub-health among college students was 64.4%. the total SHS score was 73.356 ± 11.115 points, the physiological SHS score was 81.284 ± 11.034 points, the psychological SHS score was 68.691 ± 12.559 points, and the social SHS score was 67.242 ± 17.112 points. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that eating irregular meals, exercising fewer times per week, sleeping fewer hours per night, sleeping after 11 PM more often, spending more time on electronic devices, exercising for fewer minutes each time, and skipping breakfast had the significant negative impact on the SHS scores of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic (P<0.05), while being the only child had a significant positive impact on the SHS scores of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic (P<0.05). Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the detected prevalence of sub-health was high among college students. Society and schools should pay more attention to the health of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic and take pertinence action to solve the problem base on influencing factors. Background: Since December 2019, Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has rapidly spread to most places in China and other countries, which may exert further impacts on the physiological and psychological states of urban and rural residents. Therefore, itis necessary to explore their health status during the COVID-19 outbreak. Methods: Convenience sampling is selected for a crosssectional investigation and SHS questionnaires were distributed by WeChat. Results: A total of 15681 valid questionnaires from 4988 (31.8%) healthy participants, 9991 (63.7%) participants in SHS and 702 (4.5%) in a morbid state are incorporated. As shown by total scale, psychology and social aspect, SHS prevalence rate of rural residents is above that of urban residents; however, the contrary is the case for their physiological status. Regarding all participants, female gender, with low body mass index (BMI), or in the low-income group are account for the higher SHS prevalence rate. Based on ordinal Logistic regression analysis results, male gender and short time spend on electronic products are protective factors for SHS, while sleep deprivation is a risk factor for both urban and rural residents. (p<0.05). Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the prevalence rate of SHS in rural residents' psychology, society and total scale is higher than that of urban residents. Major influencing factors include gender, time spent on electronic products, sleep time, smoking and social roles. Residents should properly adjust their daily schedule; and related governmental departments should particularly focus on SHS of rural residents and provide diversified life and psychological support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, environment and livelihood. COVID-19 has had an impact on almost all aspects of life. The virus had spread over more than 100 countries, leading to Unprecedented lockdowns, strict travelling bans and social distancing measures. The COVID-19 crisis has led to high levels of psychological and social distress among mankind, especially in vulnerable groups such as senior citizens and patients of chronic comorbid diseases. It equally affected the senior citizens of all tires in society. Senior citizens could soon realise the importance of their health and immunity. People globally witnessed the potentials of Ayurveda in increasing the immune response towards covid-19. Government took immediate measures in order to combat the viral load found among senior citizens. Free immune boosting AYUSH Kit distribution was one among such scheme by Govt of Karnataka. Materials and Methods: A case controlled clinical trail was conducted on 60 samples who were aged above 60 years of age, randomly selected from 15,000+ beneficiaries of a scheme by Govt of Karnataka. Beneficiary details were collected from database of GAMC Mysore's OPD. A structured questionnaire containing 20 mandatory questions was the tool for assessment. Questions were asked about the impact of AYUSH kit on their dietry pattern, sleeping pattren, and other health benefits, along with the effect of medicines in preventing covid-19. Results: Result revealed the significant impact of AYUSH Kit on all dimensions of health among senior citizens. A remarkable impact was found in controlling their chronic diseases, and brought down the stress and fear of Covid-19. Conclusion: Ayurveda is a holistic science. Background: In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the mortality risk being presented by both the media and some public health information providers is often misleading and so increasing the risk of suboptimal policy decisions and lower than desired voluntary compliance rates. Objectives: We make the following contributions. Methods: First and foremost, we explain why the obsessive focus on the post-epidemic retrospective Case Fatality Rate is misplaced and explain why the focus must necessarily be on a time-varying mid-epidemic measure. Second, we introduce a Mid-Epidemic Case Fatality Rate (ME-CFR) framework and explain, using this framework, why the mortality risk as often presented during the COVID 19 pandemic is inappropriate and downward biased. Third, we explain how the ME-CFR is related to the numbers being released for Cases, Deaths and Recovered. Fourth, we propose one such easy to use ME-CFR methodology for estimating the risk of death at a point in time when infected in the midst of an epidemic. Results: Present an illustrative example of such ME-CFR curves along with some commentary for 3 very different countries (India, South Korea, USA) for the current COVID 19 pandemic. Conclusion: We believe that if the professional publications and media switch to this measure of mid-epidemic outcomes, policymakers and the general public will make better decisions, leading to better outcomes for COVID 19 and for future epidemics and pandemics. Context: Information related to COVID-19 has been copiously accessible by almost everyone through various modes since its emergence in December 2019 with possible divergence in beliefs about the sources of infection and the actions to take to reduce morbidities and mortality, giving rise to the COVID-19 infodemic. Aim: (i) to report on the variability in the comprehension of COVID-19 related mortality information (ii) to document how varied the sources of information that a population relies on are (iii) to understand the motivation behind implementation of social distancing norms amongst this population (iv) to suggest methods to reduce the burden of an infodemic within a pandemic by creating herd immunity against misinform ants. Settings and Design: An online survey was conducted amongst urban educated individuals on 19 April 2020. Methods and Materials: The survey was conducted using Google forms and sent via WhatsApp chat messages to 949 individuals belonging to various chat groups, of whom 96 replied voluntarily. Results: Even though most (92.71%) of the participants derived their information from 'trustworthy' sources, there was a large amount of variation in their interpretation of that data. Conclusion: We demonstrated that educated urban professionals have been negatively affected by the infodemic around the COVID-19 pandemic and suggest broad guidelines for future information flow to be better handled through programmes such as "information vaccination" and "modified herd immunity" so that an infodemic is controlled and leads to better outcomes from any epidemic.
