Abstract: Studies the multitemporal fraction images derived from Terra Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data for analyzing land cover change over the Amazon region. Use of MODIS to provide improved information for monitoring land, ocean, and atmosphere conditions; Inclusion of spectral channels for atmospheric and cloud characterization to permit both the removal of atmospheric effects on surface observations and the provision of atmospheric measurements; Use of the linear mixing model to analyze the mixture of signatures of vegetation, soil, and shade in each pixel for either high and coarse resolution data.
