Green technology or renewable energy system (RES) is an advancement of the electricity generation which creates pollution free environment. Since last 15–20 years, renewable power plant works in the traditional way over the world and needs technology enhancement. This paper presents a complete review of application of recent advanced technology in the field of RES. The paper analyses and discusses the potential application of artificial intelligence, the internet of things, cloud computing, big data, blockchain and game theory in the area of RESs such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, etc. At the end of this paper, the ordinal assessment of application of recent technology for different objectives of RES is presented. Energy insufficiency is obstructing the socio-economic and industrial improvement of Bangladesh. Renewable energy contributes about 560 Megawatt (MW) of the total electricity production of 20,430 MW, which can be a sustainable solution to the demand-supply crisis. This paper, summarises the current energy situation of Bangladesh and examines the available renewable energy resources and their future prospect. It has been revealed that Bangladesh is heavily (62%) relying on natural gas although government has already taken steps to generate electricity from renewable energy sources. Current policies and legislations related to generation of renewable energy in Bangladesh have been discussed explicitly. A tidal stream energy resource assessment can be achieved through direct measurements of tidal elevations or flow velocities, theoretical formulas, and numerical models. This paper first described the development of renewable energy in China. Then, the tidal stream energy resource in the Qiantang River Estuary was assessed. The present work established a 2D numerical model for calculating the power density in the estuary and validated it with in situ water level, tidal current, and suspended sediment concentration measurements. Three possible sites found near the Hangzhou Bay Bridge were selected for detailed resource assessment. The results indicated that if only 50 turbines are deployed to each site, the tidal stream energy output by all turbines would be 7.5 GWh/year. Finally, building a tidal stream power generation device into an existing bridge structure was proposed at the Qiantang River Estuary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Distribution networks (DNs) are facing great changes, due to the strong increase in distributed generation (DG), often driven by renewable energy sources. Designed to deliver electrical power from the transmission system to the final consumers, they are now becoming active and may inject power into the transmission network. In case of large DN, a portion of the system can be absorbing power from the transmission grid, while another portion injects power into it. In order to satisfy the power balance as much as possible at the local level, the distribution system operators are interested in the minimisation of the power exchange with the transmission network, maximising the local consumption of DG energy. This paper presents a topological reconfiguration procedure, based on the branch exchange technique, for the maximisation of the local consumption of renewable energy. In India, uniform price was assigned to renewable energy certificate (REC) irrespective of renewable energy (RE) type, technology, and location. Moreover REC price bands are higher than existing preferential tariff. There are distinct renewable purchase obligations (RPOs) specified for various RE types, whereas there is lack of efficient tools to check RPO compliance. Because of these reasons, REC market stabilisation is getting delayed. This paper proposes a method using plant performance multiplier to convert non-solar and solar REC to single equivalent REC with competitive REC pricing, which can be traded on unified REC market. The method combines solar and non-solar RPOs into a single composite RPO, to make RPO compliance and its checking simple and efficient. A sample illustration of the proposed method is given. The benefits offered by the proposed method in REC pricing, REC trading and RPO compliance are discussed. A comparative economic analysis of present and proposed method is reported. One biomass energy source is rice husk, which is a very promising renewable energy source as it is an indigenous, cheap, and clean source of energy. However, environmental and financial profiles of electricity generation from rice husk must be assessed to ensure reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and positive cash flow. GHG emission from a rice husk generating system is significantly less than that from fossil fuel power plants. A dual-fuel diesel engine-generator of 800 kW, using a rice husk gasifier, is considered for this analysis. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of a traditional energy technology in a new perspective. The results of simulation data analysed in terms of pollution through GHG emissions, financial aspects, and suitability of the scheme for underdeveloped villages in economically developing nations are critical contributions of the paper.
