Information technologies and the related disciplines are the most popular and rapidly developing areas in the modern society. The competences of a graduates have to meet modern requirements. However, to meet them, the student must be aware of both new computer technologies, methods, models, and master the basic knowledge of their subject area, as well as understand other scientific fields, since computerization is impossible without integration with other sciences. Here we encounter with a contradiction: the increase in the number of requirements and the amount of material to be mastered by the student, while the cognitive features of a human being are not unlimited. The situation is complicated by the fact that the level of mastered knowledge and skills of entrants in profile disciplines is diverse, since there is no unified program for teaching computer science in secondary schools. This article is concentrated on the authors' proposal to apply the object-oriented approach (OOA) based on the key principles of object-oriented programming (OOP) to students' education. The purpose of the research is to study possibilities of improving the quality of education and perception of educational material by students through the use of OOA as the metamethod of teaching. Objectives of the study are 1) to systematize the approach to the study of various technologies and tools; 2) to use the principles of OOP for the distribution of material to be mastered at levels of abstraction; 3) to develop a unified approach to mastering various software of different versions; 4) to elaborate stable inter-representative relations among students throughout their studies at the university; 5) to form an understanding of the possible application of the material being studied. The teaching method developed by the authors has been practically applied since 2013 till now as the specialized discipline in the groups of Informatics and Computer Science direction with the annual methodical improvement of OOA approaches. Such classical methods of pedagogical research as the analysis of problem area, pre- and postquestioning, pedagogical observation, a synthesis of the accumulated material and the comparative experiment in terms of classroom instruction, including traditional ascertaining, forming and control stages of the recurrent spiral patterns in various profile disciplines were used. Seminars and classes were conducted through the prism of the OOA, i.e. the object was revealed, its methods and properties were determined, at the same time students formed a clear idea of the goals and variations of the studied technologies. The learned material was encapsulated and then used as a basis for further studies. The knowledge and skills of students were evaluated during the execution of laboratory tasks and courseworks and their answering on theachers' questions. According to the authors' observations and estimates, the proposed OOP method allowed 1) to systematize the process of te. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
