This section presents comments on an article on safety and security measures in chemical products and processes in the U.S. This addresses several issues, including the lack of an appropriate government response since the September 11, 2001 attacks and the inadequacy of chemical plant security measures. This calls for the use of safer chemicals, but legal support is needed. There is a need for regulations on maintaining safer production and transportation of chemicals with high risks.
