Abstract

Aneurysmal bone cysts is a benign, slow growing expansile lesion usually found in long bones or vertebrae. Only 5 cases of ABC of the ethmoid bone have been reported in the literature. Plain radiographs are not specific. CT and MRI are very useful to depict the extent of the lesion and demonstrate the presence of blood-fluid levels, which is a characteristic finding of ABC. We present one atypical case of ABC of the ethmoid bone in a 15-year-old female characterised by its extensive involvement and its rare location.

Abstract

The authors report one case of aneurysmal rachidian cyst who concern a young girl of eleven years old presenting lumbagos with pyramidal irritation on a L2 and L3 lesion. The radiological exploration (CT, MRI) has a double interest: to find again lytical pictures of the rear arch blowing the cortical, liquids levels, logets which remind the macroscopical appearance of the aneurysmal rachidian cyst; to specify the regional extension of preoperative interest. The histological confirmation of the aneurysmal rachidian cyst after a surgical treatment and the conformity of anatomo-radiological descriptions, confirm the predictive value of the semeiology described in case of aneurysmal rachidian cyst.

Abstract

An aneurysmal bone cyst of fourth metacarpal which occurred in a 7-year-old girl was explored by MRI. MRI findings such as fluid-fluid levels were compared to literature. These levels are inconstant and not pathognomonic of aneurysmal bone cyst. They could occur within others bone tumors. Even if fluid-fluid levels are highly suggestive of aneurysmal bone cyst only pathological study asserts the diagnosis. MRI procedure might be a good procedure for post surgery follow up.

Abstract

The authors present an aneurysmal bone cyst of the pelvis which was unusual in its radiographic aspects. Its aggressive features made it difficult to distinguish from a malignant lesion. We develop the imaging methods contribution in positive and differential diagnosis and underline the modern methods interest (CT scan, MR imaging). Biopsy is necessary to confirm the diagnosis and recognize possible causal malignant tumor.
