Highlights: [•] Electronic, structural and elastic properties of group IB nitrides are investigated. [•] A pressure induced structural phase transition is predicted under high pressure. [•] Electronic structure reveals that these materials exhibit metallic behavior. [•] Computed elastic moduli obey traditional mechanical stability condition.
