The characteristics and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) fabrication of single crystal iron/chromium (Fe/Cr) superlattices on a magnesium oxide substrate is described. A chromium buffer layer was grown on the substrate before the MBE. Reflection high-energy electron diffraction and scanning electron microscopy measurements were done to monitor the superlattices' growth surfaces and surface morphology. These suggested well-ordered and extremely flat structures or interfaces for the Fe/Cr superlattices. Magnetization was also observed to have an exact square-root field dependence. Further studies of magnetoresistance effect and interface roughness relation is suggested.
