Abstract

The P450 monooxygenase homolog, txtC, encodes a cytochrome P450-type monooxygenase that is involved in the postcyclization hydroxylation of the cyclic dipeptide, thaxtomin A. Results show that Escherichia coli produced TxtC possesses spectral properties similar to the spectra of cytochrome P-450-type hemoproteins.
