This paper formulates Stackelberg game models to analyze the optimal pricing and recycling policies for a closed-loop supply chain with retailer and third party dual collection channels, in which the transfer prices paid by the manufacturer to the two recyclers are either uniform or different and government subsidy is provided with either the manufacturer or the two recyclers. By doing system comparisons and numerical examples, this paper explores the effects of subsidy policies and transfer pricing policies from the perspectives of the customers, the environment and the members. The results show that the usage of either remanufacturing or recycling subsidy would stimulate the consumption, increase the recovery and improve the members' profits. Moreover, it is beneficial for the customer, the manufacturer and the retailer when different transfer prices are paid to the two recyclers for collecting used products, and in contrast, it is beneficial for the environment and the third party when uniform transfer prices are paid to the two recyclers for collecting used products. Due to the manufacturer's dominant position, the supply chain is more willing to collect used products from the two recyclers with different transfer prices. Finally, the effectiveness of subsidy policies on the retail price, the total collection rate and the members' performance is associated with the size of the subsidy, while is unrelated with the type of the subsidy. The construction industry is responsible for significant environmental impact. Mounting ecological and societal concerns are driving construction to 'go green'. Green supply chain management offers the potential of a systemic approach to facilitate transformation of the sector. Research on green supply chain management in construction has been growing in recent times but to date has not been systematically brought together. A systematic literature review (SLR) is presented, applying the high standards of rigour and transparency required by the methodology. From an initial search result of 207 papers, 44 were included in the detailed analysis. The papers are described in terms of publication outlet, date of publication, geographic setting, methods used, tools and techniques, conceptual definition, the role of stakeholders and practical implications. The findings are synthesized to propose a categorization of approach and a comprehensive definition of green supply chain management in construction. An agenda for future research is outlined which emphasizes the need for an end-to-end perspective, engagement with the unique characteristics of the industry, a focus on the ultimate goals of environmental sustainability, and on gaps in practical guidance, use of insights from relevant theoretical perspectives, and expansion to include critical stances. Abstract Traceability systems are perceived as a powerful solution to cope with food safety issues. It is important to improve the traceability for food supply chains to address potential food safety events. This paper studies the sourcing decisions in a food supply chain, in which the buyer is exposed to potential food safety events due to supplier responsibility. It is shown that the buyer may fail to source from the supplier with high-level traceability on account of information asymmetry. To address this adverse selection problem, this paper employs the certification as a screening tool, and find that the buyer could separate the two types perfectly with a pooling contract with certification, if the probability of the high type is low; otherwise, a pooling contract only separate the two types partially. This paper further considers a setting in which traceability strengthens the food safety level. It is shown that the buyer prefers the supplier with high-level traceability even the unit cost incurred by food safety events or the probability of the supplier with high-level traceability is lower. Besides economic profits, environmental and social concerns are attracting more and more attention. In this paper, we introduce the environmental responsibility through the product recovery and the social responsibility through the product donation. On the premise that the manufacturer undertakes the product recycling, we consider three distinct donation subjects, viz, the centralized system's donation, the manufacturer's donation and the retailer's donation, and develop a manufacturer-retailer supply chain model to analyze the effect of the product recovery and the donation on the operations management. The results show the product donation under the subsidy incentive expands the demand for the product and increases the collection rate. In terms of two decentralized systems, the members who bear the responsibility of the product donation can obtain more profits. And that the manufacturer undertakes the product donation is a better choice from environmental and social perspectives. From the view of economic profit, that the retailer undertakes the product donation is a better choice only when the collection cost is high and the donation subsidy is low. All decisions in the centralized system are better than those in the other decentralized systems. Thus, we present a two-part tariff contract with bargaining and a retailer-led revenue sharing contract to coordinate two decentralized systems, respectively. In times of climate change, biodiversity loss, or growing natural resource scarcity, the circular business model (CBM) concept is increasingly attractive, promoting the reorganization of current value creation architectures and supply chains toward a sustainable system of production and consumption. Driven by a vision of continued economic expansion and growth on a planet with finite natural resources, CBMs are endorsed by political institutions, multinational corporations, business consultancies, and academia. Some argue that CBM configurations contribute to a more holistic and radical change in the existing business logics than approaches that achieve incremental resource efficiency improvements. However, how "holistic" and "radical" are CBMs theoretically constituted in academia if we consider the deep structural and paradigmatic shifts in societies necessary to deal with the challenges associated with the Anthropocene? Prior studies do not examine the inherent normative settings and the operational change approaches beneath CBM concepts. To reconstruct the theoretical foundations of CBMs critically, the recent CBM body of academic literature is systematically reviewed according to (1) the legitimacy of CBMs (why should it be done) (2) the modes of value creation and offerings (what should be done), and (3) the core principles of CBM integration into daily business (how should it be done). From this synthesis, the predominant notion of sustainability behind the CBM concept can be revealed. This study argues contemporary scientifically constructed CBMs need to be reconsidered if they are intended to contribute to a profound economic transition toward sustainability. Hence, the paper shows how principles from more "holistic", "radical", and pluralistic economic approaches can widen CBMs and how future research can help to diversify the concept. E-Agriculture, or Smart Farming, refers to the design, development, and application of innovative methods to use modern information and communication technologies (ICTs), such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning, to move towards more sustainable agricultural and farming practices. The integration of blockchain technology in farming is gaining attention for its potential to migrate from the centralized and monopolistic model that shapes today's food value chain. This paper highlights the fact that most of today's blockchain-based farming frameworks focus on food tracking and traceability. Only rarely does research focus on the design of digital marketplaces to support the trading of agricultural goods between farmers and potentially interested third party stakeholders; equally rarely are performance evaluations performed for the proposed frameworks. Energy efficiency of the wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the dominating issues in the non-stop table grapes cold chain monitoring. The aim of this paper is to propose an energy-efficient sensing method for the non-stop cold chain management of table grapes in order to reduce the average energy consumption of WSN devices and improve the operation and transmission efficiency of WSN, and finally strengthen the transparency, traceability and stabilization in non-stop cold chain monitoring. The energy-efficient sensing in non-stop cold chain monitoring was realized by combining the WSN and the CS transmission mode for the sensor data acquisition and transmission. According to the comprehensive analysis of the environmental performance, the CS performance, the energy consumption of WSN devices, the transmission efficiency and economic performance in actual cold chain of table grapes, the WSN with CS transmission mode could have the sensor data been transmitted with relatively few sampling amount and reconstructed with high accuracy and efficiency. The proposed energy-efficient sensing method could be extended for the non-stop cold chain monitoring applications to improve their energy, operation and transmission efficiency. Earlier studies in the sustainable supply chain (SSC) have been introduced since its submission, yet, research of sustainable supply chain finance (SSCF) is still insufficient. Also, these studies did not consider uncertainty in corresponding with the uncertain environment of the supply chain deficiencies, the integration of sustainable development and supply chain finance is essential. Hence, this paper evaluating a set of measurements to provide sustainable supply chain finance in the gas industry under uncertainty. In this paper, TODIM (acronym in Portuguese for Interactive and Multi-criteria Decision-Making) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods based on the Best-Worst Method (BWM) will be applied according to neutrosophic set to increase the accuracy of evaluation under uncertainty. According to expert evaluations, the results show that financial attributes and product/service management are the most substantial metrics for enhancing a firm's performance and obtain sustainable supply chain finance. There has been an increasing emphasis on environment management due to generation of toxic waste, scarcity of natural resources, etc. This has pushed manufacturing organizations to implement closed loop supply chain practices. In this paper, critical factors for the implementation of closed loop supply chain practices are identified and analyzed in the Indian automotive sector. Various key factors were identified from extant literature and subsequently validated from 28 industry experts. Further, cause and effect relationships among the factors are examined by applying Grey-Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory technique. The results indicate that 'Governmental regulations and support' (R–C = 1.14), 'Increased customer awareness on environment protection' (R–C = 0.65) and 'Implementation of information technologies' (R–C = 0.34) are the most important causal factors. The paper provides recommendations for policy makers, managers and practitioners on implementation of closed loop supply chain practices for environmental management. This paper argues in favor of a paradigm shift in supply chain sustainability (SCS) studies, from a sustainability-performance approach to a sustainability-practice approach. It focuses on how sustainability occurs rather than on what it takes to ensure sustainable operations through a process-oriented understanding of sustainability as a practice. The sustainability-practice approach also supports a shift from the triple bottom line perspective to a focus on sustainable development goals (SDGs). The present research enables the idea that sustainability emerges from a bundle of practices to achieve and to keep some goal as well as contributes to understanding how a medium organization and its supply chain practice sustainability, toward the SDG 12. A four-years qualitative case study was conducted in a Brazilian family-owned company that manufactures rubber products for the health and educational fields, and content analysis was used to reveal the doings and sayings of sustainability as a practice. Findings indicate that sustainability occurs, both internally and along the supply chain, through five different practices: cooperating, understanding, deeming, improving, and changing the logic. The competitive market, the need for customers and the environmental pressures stimulate the search for innovative products. After all, the current state of the planet has been stimulating companies and individuals to pursue practices that contribute to environmental sustainability. In this respect, the topics related to the process of product development, to the management of the green supply chain and to sustainability assume high relevance. Therefore, this study aims to identify the main bibliographical references that deal with integrated product development process (IPDP) models for the green supply chain management (GSCM). This study starts by identifying some keywords and the main academic journals databases. From this search, the study selects the peer-reviewed articles from journals with high impact factor (SJR> 1; Q1), resulting in 9430 articles. Next, the search selects the articles of greater relevance on the studied subject by verifying the titles and abstracts, as well as considering inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 355 articles. These articles were analyzed as to the level of association to the two themes addressed (IPDP and GSCM), classified by area of influence. From the analysis were selected 33 papers considering their relevance and compliance with the analyzed topic (IPDP and GSCM). These articles were read integrally, aiming to report the main contributions in the area, the practical applications and the remaining limitations, being able to serve as a reference for future works. During the analyzes the authors have considered the years of publication, the main journals, key words, countries of origin, as well as the relevance with the research field. From these articles, this study categorized and selected five articles that presented models in accordance with the research target, detailing their contributions and limitations. The differential contribution of this paper was to identify and analyze models that relate or cover the relationship between GSCM and IPDP, which is a shortfall in the integration process between these two areas, specifically related to the "operations factor" involving green procurement, green distribution and green manufacturing issues. Agriculture is a key component of prosperous continuation of human civilization, meeting the basic needs of daily life. Democratization is an inevitable change in the development of political systems. Democratization as a general-purpose technological concept has given birth to a series of individual democratizations such as industrial democratization and financial democratization. Agricultural democratization is generally considered to bring freedom of information, improve agricultural production efficiency and, ultimately, form an open society, though this aspect of democratization is less studied than others.With the progress of science and technology, the practical application of information communication technology and blockchain technology in agriculture gives deeper digital significance to agricultural democratization, thus, further deriving the concept of "digital agricultural democratization". This paper analyzes summarizes existing concepts, and analyzes the connotations and logical relationships between institutional concepts and technical concepts, such as agricultural democratization, agricultural autocratization, centralization, decentralization, information and communication technology, and blockchain, and proves that democratization and blockchain are general-purpose technologies which have "pervasiveness". To realize the coupled nature of technical logic and institutional logic, we here define the concept of "digital agricultural democratization" which contains three important characteristics. To demonstrate this, we took the Beijing Liuminying Ecological Farm as a case study and proposed a "blockchain-based electronic agriculture" framework for its development and challenges. This framework incorporates the entire circular agricultural model of the ecological farm into the blockchain. The blockchain network automatically collects and uploads data through various types of smart devices, which expands the information set that can be used for sharing. This can solve problems such as asymmetric information, unreliable third-party institutions, and poor traceability of organic food. The innovation of the farm's agricultural model provides a powerful example of a novel concept, and illustrates a reliable path for achieving "digital agricultural democratization". Waste input-output (WIO) model is a suitable method to explore the nexus between economic activities and waste management. Contemporary research that typically explores this nexus follows two main aspects: either they consider Final demand as a whole, or they identify the nexus between households, with different types of socio-demographic indicators and household waste generation. However, it is complex to apply the WIO model from the perspective of household consumption— a major component of Final demand — because of a lack of economic and environmental data related to household consumption. This paper proposes a new perspective, applying the WIO model to assess the nexus between different patterns of household consumption and indirect waste generation and treatment. This novelty is to combine macro- and micro-economic and environmental data related to Australian industrial sectors, different patterns of household consumption (Mosaic data), and direct waste generation into the WIO model for exploring this nexus in two scenarios. Results indicate that the total amount of indirect waste generation caused by B05 (couples without children who spend the majority of their time at the office) are 99.24 kg more than that of D16 (couples without children who are retired and stay at home) for scenario I. The correlation coefficients for differences of output of economy and indirect waste generation between B05 and D16 are 0.9796 and 0.9773 in scenarios I and II, respectively. Sensitivity analysis indicates the change of the amount of direct waste generation in a reasonable range cannot dramatically affect the major economic activities and waste generation. This research suggests a different perspective of household consumption to estimate indirect waste generation through a WIO model to provide more reliable information for waste management in the supply chain. Today, in many organizations, the debate about the difference in core capabilities has become an important factor for market competition. Companies, based on the field of activity, decide to strengthen some of their capabilities, capacities, and expertise. Therefore, the focus of an organization on the strengths and efforts to develop its sustainability will lead to a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Due to changes in environmental factors, organizations have focused on carbon emissions in procurement and transportation that have the highest carbon footprint. This paper proposes a multi-objective, eco-sustainability model for a supply chain. The objectives are to minimize overall costs, maximize the efficiency of transportation vehicles and minimize information fraud in the process of information sharing within supply chain elements. Big data is considered in the amount of information exchanged between customers and other elements of the proposed supply chain; since there are frauds in information sharing then using big data 5Vs the model is adapted to control the cost of information loss leading to customer dissatisfaction. Since uncertainty is inevitable in the real environments, in this research hybrid uncertainty is considered. Because two sources of uncertainty are considered in most of the parameters, thus it is necessary to robustify the decision-making process. The model is a mixed integer nonlinear program including big data for an optimal sustainable procurement and transportation decision. A heuristic method is used to solve the big data problem that makes use of a robust fuzzy stochastic programming approach. The proposed model can prevent disturbances by using a scenario-based stochastic programming approach. An effective hybrid robust fuzzy stochastic method is also employed for controlling uncertainty in parameters and risk taking out of outbound decisions. The European Union is working towards reducing food waste of 30% by 2025. A pyramid of priorities to manage the food waste reduction is set by the Directive 2008/98/EC, where prevention is the first action to be implemented by the Member States. The objective of this paper is to identify the main trajectories followed by scientific research and two national laws against food waste, namely the Italian and the French laws. To do so, the two regulations are compared by analyzing and classifying each single measure according to the FUSIONS approach. Results are discussed with reference to the priorities expressed in the food waste pyramid. So far, it seems that the two national laws took a different direction, limiting the prevention activities to communication campaign addressed to final consumers and focusing on re-use and recovery especially at the final stages of the supply chain. In reverse supply chains, acquisition price strategy provided by manufacturers plays an essential role in collecting used products. On the other hand, owing to the fact that the acquisition price contributes to the improvement of the environmental sustainability, it can influence the purchasing behaviors of eco-friendly customers. Thus, acquisition price strategy not only can positively affect the amount of returned products but also can positively affect the market demand. This study integrates bilateral effects of the acquisition price to analyze the performance of a sustainable closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) by introducing a dual-function acquisition price. This paper also contributes to the sustainable CLSC literature by proposing an analytical coordination mechanism to coordinate the dual-function acquisition price as an environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a social sustainability. Motivated by a real case of dairy industry, the bilateral effects of the acquisition price on both reverse and forward channels are considered through its dual functionality. In the sustainable CLSC consisting of two competitive manufacturers and one retailer, the manufacturers compete with each other on the dual-function acquisition price offered to the customers. Moreover, to facilitate the collection process, the manufacturers encourage the retailer to do the collection process by offering him a credit time scheme. Besides the collection process, the retailer invests in the CSR as social sustainability to boost the market share. At first, we use a manufacturer-Stackelberg game to model the problem under decentralized structure where each member individually optimizes its own profitability. Afterward, the problem is formulated under centralized structure where the decision variables are determined from CLSC viewpoint. Then, a compensation-based wholesale price contract is developed to coordinate the competitive CLSC under coordinated model. Using the data of the case study, the results demonstrate that the proposed contract enhances the whole CLSC and all members' profitability, the manufacturers' dual-function acquisition price, and the retailer's CSR investment. With the growing level of public environmental consciousness, sustainability has become an important issue in the area of supply chain management. This paper focuses on a channel coordination problem in a two-echelon sustainable supply chain involving one socially responsible manufacturer and one fair-minded retailer. Constructing mathematical models to characterize the problem, four particular contracts are developed to investigate the environmental performance and channel profit under the framework of two non-cooperative contracts: wholesale price and two-part tariff, and two cooperative contracts: Nash bargaining and Rubinstein bargaining. Theoretical analysis verified by numerical experiments shows that the wholesale price contract performs worse than the other three in terms of the carbon emission per unit product and channel profit. In addition, the two-part tariff contract can partially coordinate the supply chain, whereas both bargaining contracts can achieve perfect coordination to provide outcomes of the centralized decision. Comparing with the fair-neutral scenarios, we find that the fairness behavior promotes the retailer's profit, but reduces the manufacturer's profit under different contracts. Sensitivity analysis reveals that with intensified fairness concerns, the sustainability level and channel profit diminish under non-cooperative contracts, but remain the same under cooperative contracts. The literature highlights the growing dissatisfaction of consumers with foods from industrial production systems. Their concern for health and the desire to support local producers led them to search for other alternatives: products that are local, traditional and typical of a particular region, such as many Geographical Indication (GI) food products. This paper explores the relationship between the purchase of GI food products, the attitudes towards proximity, tradition, and ethnicity, and consumer ethnocentric tendencies. The results, obtained through a mediation analysis, show that aspects such as products made by small companies and transparency (in terms of their production process) attain greater significance among consumers with higher levels of sub-national ethnocentrism. Moreover, these consumers appreciate that: (1) the products have been made using traditional methods, and (2) in addition to be typical of the region, these products can be bought directly from the producer, without intermediaries. Consumers who value these aspects, closely related to each other, present a greater purchase intention and a higher purchase frequency of food products with protected geographical status. • Consumer ethnocentrism has a direct effect on the purchase behavior of GI products, but also an indirect effect. • Consumer ethnocentrism is related to proximity, tradition and ethnicity. • Products made by small companies attained greater significance among ethnocentric consumers. • Consumers with higher levels of sub-national ethnocentrism appreciate products bought directly from the producer. • These c onsumers present a greater purchase intention of GI products. As competition between organizations are evolving into competition between supply chains, to survive and indeed grow, it is necessary to deliver added value to customers. Traceability has emerged as one of the key measures of operational efficiencies within supply chains and ultimately, customer service. Over the years, organizations have deployed number of methods in delivering food traceability. This paper examines major methods of food traceability currently in existence and proposes a restaurant prototype for implementing more reliable food traceability using Blockchain and product identifiers. The prototype captures data from various stakeholders across the food supply chain, segregates it and finally, applies the Food Quality Index (FQI) algorithm to generate an FQI value. The FQI value helps in identifying whether the food is good for consumption on specified parameters. FQI value is generated based on extant standard storage and handling regulations specified by food safety authorities, and checks whether value so derived, is within the permissible range. The prototype helps in grading food quality for human consumption besides strengthening food (product) traceability. This prototype can be customized to address future requirements of traceability triggered through new information emanating from any stakeholder or the node in the supply chain. • Food Traceability approach for a sample restaurant prototype using Blockchain infrastructure. The debate on the sustainability of service supply chain has recently become notorious with the increased environmental and economic impacts of service materiality. Cost-effective material management in the service domain has, therefore, become a competitive priority and a means for sustainability. This essentially requires the development of quantitative models with green options for optimizing material sourcing, transportation, inventory, processing, and reverse logistics. It is, however, a challenge to assess and integrate the economic and environmental costs of material procurement and consumption within service systems. The gap is more evident in service-only supply chains such as tourism, finance, and healthcare. Thus, this paper develops a service-oriented optimization model with green options for effective material management in a service environment. The developed model is focused on managing the material procurement and processing across the supply chain of a service firm (a hotel supply chain as an example). Mathematical formulation is first provided for a deterministic single-order model and this is then extended to a multi-period comprehensive material planning model. Proposed formulations are demonstrated through a simulated supply chain of accommodation services in a hotel. The theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed along with directions for future research. The value-added of this research is providing insight into material management across service supply chains, optimizing material assignment to offered services, and extending the impacts of green options to the whole supply chain of hotels and accommodation services.
