This study investigated the mediating role between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability performance. This is the first study which has focused specifically on mediating role of green human resource management (HRM) between CSR and sustainability performance dimensions which is remained unanswered in the literature. Survey data from the 139 hotels in Pakistan was collected and SmartPLS was applied for structural equation modeling. Findings reveal that CSR is positively and significantly related with green HRM practices. In addition, green HRM practices mediate the relationship between CSR and environmental and social dimensions of sustainability performance. Contradictory to the expectation, green HRM was found insignificant mediator between CSR and economic sustainability performance. The findings demonstrate various theoretical and managerial implications. The study offers novelty by unfolding the unobserved mediating relationship of green HRM between CSR and dimensions of sustainability performance. The study also contributes to the literature of resource-based view (RBV) theory which depicts that CSR and green HRM are the intangible resources for the hotels in achieving sustainable performance and competitive advantage. The current study examines the role of knowledge management (KM) in green innovation and corporate sustainable development (CSD) activities. The researcher collected data from lower, middle and upper-level managers of small, medium and large-sized manufacturing and services firms located in Pakistan. The data was analysed through structural equation modelling (SEM) to investigate how KM processes, namely knowledge creation, acquisition, sharing and application, impact on green technology and green management innovation and environment, social and economic aspects of sustainability. As per the results, KM significantly impacts on green innovation and CSD activities. Green innovation also indicated significant positive impact on CSD. The dimensional analysis indicated that with the exception of knowledge creation and acquisition, which indicated an insignificant impact on social sustainability, all the paths indicated significant results. The adoption of sustainable residue management practices is considered as a cleaner production option for the agricultural sector. However, limited information is available from Pakistan on the current use and adoption of sustainable residue management practices and different socio-physiological factors are involved in the process of shaping farmers' intentions. Based on the protection motivation theory framework, this study analyzes the socio-physiological factors affecting the farmers' intentions on adopting sustainable crop residue management practices. The paper is based on cross-sectional data collected from 420 farmers across Punjab and employs a structural equation modeling to explore research objectives. The research findings show that farmers, who perceive high risk from crop residue burning or who are aware of its negative consequences, are more intended to adopt sustainable crop residue management practices. However, their adoption intentions do have significant relationship with the self-efficacy implying the lack of resources, time, knowledge, competency, and skills as constraints limiting the adoption of cleaner production strategies. Further, the research findings also confirm the positive and significant role of habits of farmers in shaping their intentions to use sustainable crop residue management practices. In addition to this, the paper found a positive and significant role in social interaction, sources of information and access to extension services in shaping farmers' decision regarding sustainable residue management practices at the farm level. This study examines the impact of four main dimensions of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) i.e., Internal Environmental Management (IEM), Green Purchasing (GP), Eco-design (ED), and Collaboration with Suppliers and Customers (CSC) on firms' Sustainable Performance (SP) - (environmental, social, and economic). The study collected data through an adopted structured questionnaire from 190 respondents of the manufacturing firms located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan. By employing Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) through SmartPLS, it is revealed that IEM, GP, and ED have a significant positive while CSC has an insignificant positive impact on firms' SP. By dividing the sample into China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) aware and unaware groups, it is confirmed that IEM, GP, and ED have a significant positive while CSC has an insignificant association with firms' SP in the former group only as none of the other GSCM dimensions, except the significant positive coefficient of GP, has any significant relationship with firms' SP in the latter group. Besides enriching the literature, especially by exploring the role of CPEC awareness, the study also contributes to the theory by testing the assumptions of the rarely examined stakeholder salience theory in the nexus of GSCM-SP. The study also contributes to the practice by updating all the key stakeholders including the local industry, government, and CPEC authority that GSCM (IEM, GP, and ED) is a comprehensive and effective strategy for boosting firms' SP and CPEC influencing their association positively. This study assessed whether the adoption of an environmental management system (EMS) as a part of an integrated management system (IMS) helps improve corporate sustainability based on the data for 211 manufacturing companies in Pakistan. A stakeholder-weighted CSR index and an equal-weighted CSR index were used to measure CSR performance of the selected companies. Descriptive t -test and exploratory factor analysis were employed to test the hypothesis and internal consistency. Structural equation modelling was used to measure various useful links between latent and observed variables. Results revealed that the mean CSR performance of EMS adopters was significantly higher than that of non-EMS adopters. Further, EMS adopters had positive and significant effect on soundness, environmental protection, fairness and contribution to society, whereas, the non-EMS companies had positive and substantial impact on employee satisfaction and economic contribution. In conclusion, EMS adoption can be an effective tool for organisations to address economic, social and environmental issues. Abstract Due to the scarcity of land for urban development, Brownfield Redevelopment (BR) is considered a sustainable urban land tool in developed countries, but its adoption in developing countries remains in its infancy. Barriers impeding BR need to be investigated in detail. However, few studies have analyzed barriers to BR in developing countries. This study aims to analyze the critical barriers to BR in Pakistan by using a two-stage methodology including the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Initially, 41 barriers were identified through a comprehensive literature review. FDM screened out 33 barriers through expert opinion. Survey questionnaires were sent to major stakeholders involved in the BR process. Finally, valid responses were analyzed using SEM to verify and rank the most critical barriers. Study results indicated 26 critical barriers. The top five critical barriers were lack of policy incentives, the complexity of public-private partnerships, lack of professional and technical personnel, the conflict between stakeholders, and lack of awareness of environmental law. A comparative analysis of barriers to BR in Pakistan and other countries including the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, and China showed that critical barriers vary by country. Furthermore, factor analysis results extracted five major categories for 26 critical barriers, including political and legal barriers, financial and economic barriers, technical and operational barriers, management system barriers, and environmental barriers. The most dominant barrier category was technical and operational barriers, impeding BR in Pakistan. This study creates value in the BR literature by identifying the most critical barriers to BR in a developing country. It could support practitioners and land use policy makers in developing appropriate strategies to promote BR. The automobile industry is adopting various processes, including innovation and dynamic capabilities, to foster economic growth and survival without negatively affecting the environment. This study investigates the indirect role of green innovation and environmental performance in the relationships of corporate social responsibility and dynamic capabilities with business competitiveness. Additionally, this research explores government support as a boundary condition in strengthening (or vice versa) the impact of dynamic capabilities and corporate social responsibility on green innovation. We used a self-administered survey questionnaire to collect data from 344 respondents in Pakistan's automobile industry. The structural equation modeling results revealed that green innovation and environmental performance act as mediators and government support strengthens dynamic capabilities and corporate social responsibility connection with green innovation. This empirical research investigates the mediating role of entrepreneurial orientation in the relationships between organizational ambidexterity and sustainable development engagement and firm performance. The data were collected from 339 small and medium enterprises using a time-lagged approach and further analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results confirm the mediation of entrepreneurial orientation in the relationships between organizational ambidexterity and firm performance and sustainable development engagement. Institutional support also strengthens the entrepreneurial orientation relationship with firm performance and sustainable development practices. Considering the growing awareness and increased pressure from various stakeholders about sustainable development, organizations placed green initiatives among their top priority; however, in doing so, they are neglecting the role of knowledge resources. Taking the lead from the stakeholder theory, this research seeks to investigate the relations between stakeholders' pressure (SP), corporate social responsibility (CSR), green innovation (GI), and the knowledge management process (KMP). Data was gathered through a survey from 318 respondents of the manufacturing industries of Pakistan, and hypotheses were proved using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings reveal that SP has a significant positive impact on the KMP, CSR, and GI. Further, KMP was found to partially mediates these relationships. The conclusion signifies the critical role that SP can play in attaining environmental protection outcomes through CSR and GI in manufacturing industries. Fostering business activities has been advocated as a more appropriate strategy, replacing aid-based initiatives for achieving sustainable economic development of underprivileged societies. However, the little familiarity with the working of supply chains serving the respective markets is obstructing our efforts to devise suitable strategies to promote corporate activity in underdeveloped areas. The paper aims to critically evaluate applicability of established supply chain management related constructs in base of the pyramid market setting. An interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect data in 60 face-to-face interviews, with buyer–supplier dyads, focusing micro-entrepreneurs in Pakistan. We used partial least squares algorithm (SmartPLS 3) to fit a structural equation model to the data. Communication emerged as prime driver construct linked to tactical purchasing, technological integration with customers, technological integration with suppliers and supply chain partner development. The paper, while extending largely formal market–focused supply chain literature to informal settings, enriches our understanding of related phenomena in base of the pyramid markets. Findings of the paper will not only assist practitioners in grasping dynamics of business-to-business markets at the base of the pyramid but will also aid in understanding causality of certain supply chain management practices. Although extensive studies have focused on the impact of different corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities on environmental sustainability, few studies investigated the effects of CSR activities on environmentally sustainable development and green innovation. Yet, as a determinant of environmental strategies, green innovation haven't received much attention. Therefore, this study explored how different CSR dimensions impacts on environmentally sustainable development and further on green innovation. Data were collected from 282 respondents belonging to the manufacturing industries of Pakistan from January 2019 to April 2019; and analyzed by adopting methods of partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and grey relational analysis. As per study results, all dimensions of CSR were found positively significant towards environmentally sustainable development. Further, the environmentally sustainable development positively enhances green innovation. This research employed an innovative attempt to evaluate the ranking of these constructs by using grey relational analysis whereby it was found that CSR to environment had a stronger effect, whereas CSR to consumer had a weaker impact on environmentally sustainable development. Teachers' education has a pivotal role in the process of societal change and for leading towards a sustainable future. The current study aimed at investigating the effect of a course regarding education for sustainable development on the student-teachers' attitude towards sustainable development. The data were collected from student teachers in two stages; in the first stage, data were collected from 287 students to validate the questionnaire while in the second stage data were collected from the experimental and controlled group. Structural equation modelling technique, paired and independent sample t-tests were applied for data analysis. The results of the quantitative and qualitative data indicate a positive change in the student-teachers' attitude towards sustainable development. Student-teachers who studied education for sustainable development subject during their course-work were surveyed to determine if they had a positive attitude towards sustainable development compared to their counterpart student-teachers who did not study education for sustainable development subject. Since the implementation of renewable power generation technologies (RPTs) is a multifaceted and complex procedure influenced by a diverse range of factors, it induces ever evolving traction of researchers to investigate those influence factors. The aim of this research is to investigate the factors affecting consumers' intention to utilize RPTs for domestic use in Pakistan. In order to have a better understanding of the behavioral construct of consumers to adopt or prohibit the RPTs, the current study has contributed through augmenting the structure of planned behavior theory by introducing a vital influence factor of lack of access to electricity in remote areas. The findings of the current study are derived from the calculations conducted on primary data compiled from 230 Pakistani households in provincial capitals including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar, and the federal capital Islamabad through conducting a comprehensive survey. The propositions are examined employing the state of art technique called structural equation modeling (SEM). The statistical findings revealed that, on the one hand, the influence factors including subjective norms, attitudinal construct, relative advantage, perceived behavioral control, and lack of access to electricity imparted positive influence on consumers' intention to utilize RPTs in Pakistan. On the other hand, the cost is found to induce prohibition impact on consumers' intention to utilize RPTs. Notably, the moral norms, environmental concern, environmental knowledge, and awareness are revealed to impart neutral influence on consumers' intention to utilize RPTs.
