The new role of occupational medicine was experimented during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanchez et al. [[5]] focused their attention on the mediation of work engagement in the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and work performance in front-line HCWs throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Occupational medicine is a clinical discipline that draws attention to the health of workers and their ability to work.
