Seasonal investigations of the reflecting properties of pine forests were conducted using an air-borne multifrequency radar polarimetric system. The multifrequency radar images (RIs) obtained during the September–February period were analyzed. Anomalous behavior of seasonal backscattering in the L, P, and VHF bands was observed. The moisture content of the tree elements were measured. The specific features of the water-regime state observed during the September–June period were noted. A seasonal relation between the reflecting properties of pine trees and the water regime of the elements of the trees is used as a basis for explaining the RI specific features.
