Single crystals of FeCr2S4grown by chemical vapour transport of CrCl3and FeS in a quasi-closed tube system exhibit stepped growth patterns on (111) crystal faces with step height of unit cell dimension 17.3 Å, or multiples of it. This is a report on regular spiral patterns with step height three times that of the unit cell dimension, 51.9 Å, which form stably on the crystal surface and form more than 250 turns until they fuse to a bunching structure.
