- Abstract
The current research aims to determine the degree of availability of dimensions of digital citizenship values in the educational units on the Rawdati platform at the kindergarten stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, a list of dimensions of digital citizenship values that should be present in the educational units on the Rawdati platform was developed using a descriptive analytical approach. A content analysis card was prepared by the researchers to assess the availability of these dimensions. The study aimed to assess the availability of dimensions of digital citizenship values based on paragraph units, including six main dimensions of digital citizenship values and 30 sub-indicators. The study findings indicated a general deficiency in the degree of inclusion of dimensions of digital citizenship values in the educational units on the Rawdati platform. The results also highlighted an imbalance among these dimensions. "Digital access" ranked first, followed by "digital etiquette and ethics" with a moderate level of inclusion. "Digital rights and responsibilities" followed, with a low level of inclusion. On the other hand, "digital health and safety" and "digital security" were completely absent. In light of these findings, the research recommended updating the content of the Saudi National Early Childhood Curriculum to include high-level dimensions of digital citizenship values.
