Concrete canvas reinforced with spacer fabric has increasingly gained popularity due to its lightweight, great flexibility, high strength and low contamination compared to ordinary concrete. In order to fully explore the structure and performance of this novel composite, this review illustrates how to design high-performance concrete canvas and presents a summary of recent application status of it. Firstly, the structure and properties of knitted and woven spacer fabric and concrete material that comprise concrete canvas is introduced. Secondly, internal and external mechanisms affecting the properties of concrete canvas have been described. To illustrate how to evaluate and test the mechanical behavior of concrete canvas, typical mechanical experiments such as tensile and flexural experiment and failure mechanisms are explained. In terms of the characteristics of concrete canvas, the present article reviews current applications of it in disaster relief tent, slope protection, ditch lining and furniture design areas. Nevertheless, its practical applications are still in the preliminary stage, it is of great necessity to expand its application from the point of view of replacing traditional materials, changing structural design, external reinforcement and perfecting performance evaluation system. In this paper a mathematical model of looped warp knitted jacquard fabric is proposed. The technology parameters cover chain notation, threading, jacquard pattern grid and so on are defined based on the matrix. A basic pattern matrix is derived from chain notation and threading using the block matrix. Then combined with the displacement data of jacquard girds, the jacquard pattern matrix is calculated. Finally, the stitch type and stitch position are obtained analyzing the pattern information in the previous matrix. Special stress is laid on the difference between two different displacement data of jacquard girds, RT = 0 and RT = 1, which results in inconsistent lapping for the same jacquard bitmap. The pattern models are implemented and the jacquard lapping bitmap and three-dimensional simulation are generated by a calculating program via Visualstudio2015 using C# and JavaScript. The results show that this model can distinguish two types displacement jacquard information. The parameter input process is simplified and the run time for calculation is also shortened. In addition, with the help of CAD system via the web, priorities including resource sharing, design-time saving, and efficiency improving are achieved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, thermal resistance test and water vapor resistance test were experimented to obtain data of heat and humidity performance. Canonical correlation analysis was used on determining influence of basic fabric parameters on heat and humidity performance. Thermal resistance model and water vapor resistance model were established with a three-layered feedforward-type neural network. For the generalization of the network and the difficulty of determining the optimal network structure, trainbr was chosen as training algorithm to find the relationship between input factors and output data. After training and verification, the number of hidden layer neurons in the thermal resistance model was 12, and the error reached 10−3. In the water vapor resistance model, the number of hidden layer neurons was 10, and the error reached 10−3. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
