Abstract

The article discusses the medical condition of an 18-year-old male who has high alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) for 16 years. It says that the teenager was found to have a large spleen of eight centimeters (cm) under the left costal margin. It states that the patient underwent operative cholangiogram after laparotomy revealed features of cirrhosis. It adds that cholestasis and portal hypertention persistently develops despite the surgery.
