The welding of 45 steel and 0Crl8Ni9 stainless steel was done under different Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) parameters, and the microstructure and micro-hardness of the joints were examined. We optimized SPS parameters namely welding temperature, holding time and axial pressure through grey relational analysis with the considerations of multiple performance characteristics including width of diffusion zone, micro-hardness in diffusion zone and micro-hardness in weld zone. The result indicated that the SPS welding process could be improved effectively through this approach, which was useful in the optimization of SPS parameters for dissimilar steel welding. Hot extrusion parameters have great influence on the forging property and service life of hub tube. In this paper, the forming process of hub tube with finite element analysis software is simulated to gain the damage values, stress and strain distribution under different processes. To reduce image noise, we propose a novel image filter based on grey model via polynomial (GMP). The basic theory and the method of grey prediction model via polynomial are introduced. The new filter makes use of neighborhoods around each noisy pixel to predict its intensity value. Also the singular value decomposition (SVD) is adopted to increase the algorithm stability. The experimental results show that the proposed method, compared with the median filter and GM(1,1) model, improves the effect of the removal of low-density impulse noise, such as salt and pepper noise, and can do better than soma more popular denoising methods. The improved algorithm can effectively eliminate image noise, preserve the image's textures and edges, increase SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) as well as SSIM (structural similarity index), reduce RMSE (root mean square error), and significantly improve the image's visual effect. Abstract - Many researchers have developed a wide range of mathematical methods for predicting the weld strength by arc signals. However, these mathematical methods are too complex to have good use according to the complexity of welding. This paper addresses grey relational analysis to analyze the arc signals. Results indicate that the pulse voltage is the most important factor to the weld strength, optimal parameters can be found and the experiment also proved the conclusion. It was found that grey relational analysis is a good tool to find the most important factor to the weld strength from the processing parameters, which can instruct the actual production.
