Abstract: Rovibrational spectra of Ar–D2O and Kr–D2O complexes are measured in the v 2 bend region of D2O monomer using a tunable mid-infrared diode laser spectrometer. One para and two ortho bands for both complexes are identified and then analyzed in terms of a nearly free internal rotor model. Molecular constants for the excited vibrational states, including band-origin, rotational and centrifugal distortion constants, and Coriolis coupling constant, are determined accurately. A comparison of the observed band-origins of Ar–D2O and Kr–D2O with the previous results of Ne–D2O shows regular trends of shift from Kr–D2O to Ne–D2O. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The rovibrational spectrum of the N2–N2O van der Waals complex has been recorded in the N2O ν 1 region (∼1285cm−1) using a tunable diode laser spectrometer to probe a pulsed supersonic slit jet. The observed transitions together with the data observed previously in the N2O ν 3 region are analyzed using a Watson S-reduced asymmetric rotor Hamiltonian. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants for the ground and excited vibrational states are accurately determined. The band-origin of the spectrum is determined to be 1285.73964(14)cm−1. A restricted two-dimensional intermolecular potential energy surface for a planar structure of N2–N2O has been calculated at the CCSD(T) level of theory with the aug-cc-pVDZ basis sets and a set of mid-bond functions. With the intermolecular distance fixed at the ground state value R =3.6926Å, the potential has a global minimum with a well depth of 326.64cm−1 at =11.0° and =84.3° and has a saddle point with a barrier height of 204.61cm−1 at =97.4° and =92.2°, where is the enclosed angle between the N–N axis (N–N–O axis) and the intermolecular axis. Abstract: The ν 2 fundamental band of D2O+ was recorded in the region 1000–1150cm−1 using a tunable diode laser spectrometer with velocity-modulation technique. The ions were produced in an ac glow discharge of a mixture of D2O and He. Sixty-four transitions with N ⩽11 and K ⩽3 were assigned and fitted, yielding a set of improved rotational, spin-rotational and centrifugal distortion constants of the ground and ν 2 vibrational states. Abstract: The rovibrational spectrum of the He–N2O van der Waals complex has been recorded in the N2O-monomer ν 1 region (∼1285cm−1) using an infrared tunable diode laser spectrometer in conjunction with a free supersonic jet expansion and an astigmatic multi-pass absorption cell. Twenty-two lines are assigned to the ν 2-band of He–N2O. Rotational constants for the ν 2-excited state are derived. The band-origin of the spectrum is determined to be ν 0 =1285.0666(7)cm−1 and shows a blue-shift of 0.1633(8)cm−1 compared with the N2O ν 1-band origin. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
