Thirty-four species of terrestrial isopods (Crustacea: Oniscidea) from the Oued Laou basin, in the Rif area of north-eastern Morocco, are recorded. One genus (Paractenoscia) and seven species (Trichoniscus microphthalmus, Paractenoscia cavernicola, Bathytropa rifensis, Soteriscus gibbosus, S. laouensis, Porcellio pseudornatus, andEluma praticola) are described as new. The genusSoteriscus, unavailable according to article 13.3 of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN), is here revalidated by choosingS. gaditanusas type species. The species formerly classified in the genusAfidentulaKapur from New Guinea and Aru Islands are revised. Four new species and two new genera belonging to the family Oedicerotidae are reported from Korea and Vietnam. Two new genera, Orthomanus and Imbachoculodes are described, with three new species, namely Orthomanus koreanus gen. et sp. nov., Imbachoculodes namhaensis gen. et sp. nov. and Imbachoculodes vietnamensis gen. et sp. nov. The monotypic genus Orthomanus is characterized by the very short carpi and transverse palms of gnathopods 1 and 2, the reduced dactyli on pereopods 3–6, and the greatly enlarged distolateral spine-tooth on the outer plate of maxilla 1. Imbachoculodes has slender gnathopods 1 and 2 with elongated carpi, pereopods 3 and 4 with elongated dactyli, and a narrow basis of pereopod 7. The fourth new species, Sinoediceros hwanghaensis sp. nov. has a greatly reduced flagellum on antenna 2, a broadened meri on pereopods 3 and 4, and an elongated maxilliped outer plate. The current systematics of the genus Allocyclops Kiefer, 1932 is a contentious subject. The emended diagnosis proposed in 2001 by Karanovic has not been unanimously accepted and the classical outline and species arrangement has been favoured in the latest update by Dussart and Defaye in 2006. Based on re-examination of types and additional material both concepts are tested and rejected because they are unnatural groupings. The redefined genus absorbs Bacillocyclops Lindberg, 1956 within it, and includes the species Allocyclops chappuisi Kiefer, 1932, Allocyclops cavicola Chappuis, 1951, Allocyclops beadlei (Lindberg, 1956) comb. nov. and Allocyclops botosaneanui Plesa, 1981. Psammocyclops Kiefer, 1955 and Stolonicyclops Reid and Spooner, 1998 are re-instated as separate genera: the former including Psammocyclops excellens Kiefer, 1955 and Psammocyclops ritae (Dumont and Lamoot, 1978), the latter including Stolonicyclops heggiensis Reid and Spooner, 1998 only. Hypocyclops gen. nov. is erected to accommodate Hypocyclops kieferi (Petkovski, 1971) comb. nov. and Hypocyclops montenegrinus (Karanovic, 2001) comb. nov. Virbiocyclops gen. nov. is defined for Virbiocyclops silvaticus (Rocha and Bjornberg, 1988) comb. nov. and Olmeccyclops gen. nov. for Olmecyclops veracruzanus (Suárez-Morales, Mendoza and Mercado-Salas, 2010) comb. nov. Speocyclops transsaharicus Lamoot, Dumont and Pensaert, 1981 is allocated to the genus Hesperocyclops Herbst, 1984 and Bryocyclops arenicolous (Fryer, 1956) returned to its initial placement in Metacyclops Kiefer 1927. Each of the herein (re)defined genera is representative of a different lineage within Cyclopidae. Thirty-two species of cheilostomate Bryozoa are described and illustrated from 26 stations sampled by the United States Antarctic Research Program, including 29 new species and two new genera. A further new genus is introduced for two species formerly attributed to Osthimosia Jullien, 1888. One station was located in the Ross Sea and three in the cold temperate South Pacific; 14 stations were sampled in the region of the Scotia Arc, south of the Antarctic Convergence, and eight from the subantarctic southwest Atlantic, mostly in the vicinity of Tierra del Fuego. Nine new species were present in the Antarctic samples, whereas those from the southwest Atlantic yielded 18 new species and the two new genera. Three of the new subantarctic species are attributed to genera formerly considered to be Antarctic endemics, while the two newly assigned species of Osthimosia are presently known only from Antarctic localities. A list of newly collected and identified oribatids from Kenya is presented, two of them represent new genera; Sceletoppia gen. nov. (Oppiidae) and Mahnertozetes gen. nov. (Haplozetidae). Twelve species, belonging to the families Steganacaridae, Lohmanniidae, Tetracondylidae, Microzetidae, Zetomotrichidae and Galumnidae are new to science. Two new genera and five new species of feather mites of the family Proctophyllodidae are described from passerine birds from Brazil: Tyranniphyllodes pitangi gen. n., sp. n. from Pitangus sulphuratus (Tyrannidae); Atrichophyllodes delalandi gen. n., sp. n. from Corythopis delalandi (Tyrannidae); A. mentalis gen. n., sp. n. from Dysithamnus mentalis (Thamnophilidae); Anisophyllodes candango sp. n. from Elaenia chiriquensis (Tyrannidae); and Platyacarus sittasomi sp. n. from Sittasomus griseicapillus (Dendrocolaptidae). The discovery of these taxa might give data for a better understanding of the evolution of the family Proctophyllodidae in general and the dispersion of these mites on passerines in South America in paricular. The scale insect families Asterolecaniidae and Eriococcidae are discussed from New Caledonia. One new genus Oacoccus gen. nov., and a new species Oacoccus nothofagi sp. nov. on Nothofagus sp., are described in the Asterolecaniidae, and a new species Eriococcus millei sp. nov. is described in the Eriococcidae. A new genus Rhopalotococcus gen. nov., and two new species Rhopalotococcus dugdalei sp. nov. and Rhopalotococcus metrosideri sp. nov., are also described in the Eriococcidae. Both species induce leaf galls on Metrosideros sp. Keys are provided for all the New Caledonian genera and species in the families Asterolecaniidae and Eriococcidae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two new genera and species of the stygobiont gammaridean amphipod family Bogidiellidae are described from anchialine or fully marine subterranean habitats in Mediterranean and SW Pacific Islands. Fidelidiella pectinata, from a littoral cave in Lifou (Loyalty Islands), differs from any other bogidiellid known thus far by the presence on the left mandible of a modified lacinia which is hypertrophied and expanded laterally, and by the possession of a transverse row of strong rounded processes on the anterior side of the distomedial corner of the fourth segment of the maxillipedal palp. This is the most easterly record of bogidiellid amphipods in the SW Pacific. Racovella uniramea, discovered in a Mallorcan anchialine cave, is remarkable among the Bogidiellidae in exhibiting a combination of only six distal spines on the basal endite of the maxillule, and presence of coxal gills on pereopods 3-6. We place particular emphasis on the determination of segmental homologies of all limbs and on the resolution of fine-scale integumentary details, in order to provide a sound basis for future comparison with other family members. Three species of scale‐worms inhabiting chaetopterid tubes have been found during routine studies of benthic communities. Anotochaetonoe michelbhaudi gen. and sp. nov. occurred in the East Atlantic off Congo in association with Spiochaetopterus sp. and Phyllochaetopterus sp. It has a relatively short body (fewer than 50 segments); elytra in posterior part of the body arranged on chaetigers 23, 26, 29, 32, 34, 37, 40, 43, 46, present to posterior end; achaetous notopodia; neuropodia long, with longer subtriangular prechaetal lobes and shorter postchaetal lobes rounded distally; upper neurochaetae unidentate and lower bidentate; globular ciliated papillae present between ventral cirri and ventral basis of neuropodia. Lepidasthenia brunnea occurred in the Mediterranean Sea off the French coast both free‐living and in association with Phyllochaetopterus sp. Ophthalmonoe pettiboneae was found in Vietnam (South China Sea) in association with Chaetopterus sp. This is the second finding of the species. The five species of the nudibranch family Aeolidiidae known to occur in New Zealand waters are reviewed. Detailed descriptions are provided for four of the species, Anteaeolidiella indica (Bergh, 1888) originally Aeolidiella indica; Spurilla faustina (Bergh, 1900) originally Aeolidiella faustina; Aeolidiella drusilla Bergh, 1900 and Baeolidia australis (Rudman, 1982) originally Spurilla australis. These are appraised in respect of what was known previously. Nothing can be added to the description of the fifth species, Burnaia helicochorda (Miller, 1987) originally Aeolidia helicochorda, as no more specimens have been found. A revision of all of the genera is attempted. As a consequence nine genera are maintained and two new ones created. Anteaeolidiella gen. nov. is created to accommodate Aeolidiella indica which does not sit comfortably in Aeolidiella or any of the other aeolidiid genera because of the arrangement of the cerata (multi-rowed clusters) and shape of the oral glands (spindle-shaped reservoir and giant gland cells). Burnaia gen. nov. is created to accommodate Aeolidia helicochorda which stands apart in possessing horseshoe-shaped ceratal rows (each forming a distinct cluster), finely lamellated rhinophores and prominent structured jaw denticles. Several of the known species including some still unnamed need to be described fully before the validity of the genera can be assessed properly on the characters used so far. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
