Abstract

A study was conducted to examine the macrolactonization of trichloroethyl ester derivatives determined by potassium salts. Tetrahydrofuran and benzene were harvested from sodium/benzophenone. The effects of various esters on the cyclization reaction was also analyzed. Results indicated that the rate-limiting step of a transesterification correlated with the addition of alcohols of alkoxide fragments to the carbonyl carbon.
