Abstract

A study incubated porous silicon (PS) in an organic solution of metal acetylacetonates of Mn([acac.sub.3]), Fe([acac.sub.3]), Co([acac.sub.3]) and Ni([acac.sub.2]) at room temperature. It was found that crystal-like domains spontaneously self-assembled on PS surfaces by atomic force microscopy (AFM).

Abstract

An easy grazing angle mirror-backed reflection (GMBR) infrared measurement was developed to analyze the silicon-based monolayers. Measurement of hydrogen-terminated undecylenic acid (UA) and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) functionalized silicon (111) surfaces showed good signal peaks and reproducibility.
