Ethics are codes of conduct regulating an individual or a profession. Ethical issues that occur from time to time are often complicated, multidimensional and do not have definite solutions at all times. The areas in which clinical psychologists face ethical and legal challenges today include professional competence, informed consent, confidentiality, boundary issues, psychometry, e-therapy, termination, documentation, research ethics and forensic participation. To enhance ethical behaviour, a system needs to be developed by which therapists can be held answerable for their actions. They must have knowledge of ethical guidelines and incorporate it into routine practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
