Abstract

The study focuses on structural data obtained for two amorphous binuclear complexes of iron(III) and aluminum(III) with chromium(III)-diethylentriamineepentaacetic acid (chromium(III)-DTPA, CrL(super 2-) using the energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction technique. X-ray analysis is especially suitable for providing information as to how the metal ions interact with their surroundings.

Abstract

Ultrasmall sperparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) particles are structurally characterized in situ in an aqueous dilute suspension by energy dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDXD) and ex situ as powders obtained by lyphilization of the suspension by angular dispersive X-ray diffraction (ADXD) at 20 degree Celsius. The results have indicated that the structural order, specific to crystal, is not extended to the entire volume of the particle.
