To find the buried pipes and cavities, GPR detection were proceed by the type and depth of underground pipes and cavities buried in the Chamber. In the case of asphalt pavement and non-pavement, the exploration of buried pipe were easy than the concrete and reinforced concrete pavement. In the case of air cavity, the buried depth of 1 m was evaluated as the detection was possible.

In this paper, the strengthening method was proposed for improving the seismic performance of the vulnerable structural frames. To improve the brittle characteristics of columns, aramid fiber sheet was used for the lateral confinement of columns. And to introduce th e energy dissipation capacity, a steel damper with S-shaped struts was installed. By making the unreinforced and reinforced specimens with full size specimens were evaluated for lateral load resistance capacity. It was confirmed the strengthening effects by the evaluation of failure shape, strength, stif fness degradation, and energy dissipation capacity. Hyun-Ho LeeAbstractThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the shear strengthening effect of steel fiber in high strength SFRC beams. For this purpose, 13th specimens are prepared and structural tests are performed. Testing variables are shear span to depth ratio, steel fiber volume fraction, shear strengthening ratio in 60 MPa SFRC concrete. From the reviewing of previous researches and analyzing of material and member test results, shear span to depth ratio 2.5 and steel fiber volume fraction 1.0% can be having a maximumstrengthening effect in steel fiber. Proposed shear strength estimation equation, which is considering steel fiber strengthening and shear span to depth ratio effect, underestimate the shear capacity of high strength SFRC beams. The purpose of this study is the displacement and velocity dependence evaluation of clamped shape metallic damper, which were evaluated superior in energy dissipation capacity than straight type slit damper. For this purpose, 6 metallic damper specimens are prepared and dependence test are performed. Test variables are displacement dependence and velocity dependence. According to displacement dependence test results, larger target displacement (50mm) shows lower cyclic numbers and cumulated energy dissipated area than lower target displacement (25mm). Also it shows higher strength and early failure than short target displacement. In velocity dependence evaluation, fast target velocity (60mm/sec) shows lower cyclic numbers and cumulated energy dissipated area than slow target velocity (40mm/sec). Therefore the hysteresis dependence of metallic damper were evaluated as close relation to the loading displacement and velocity conditions.

Recently new construction and reconstruction of the bridge have been required to minimize traffic congestion, environmental disadvantage, to reduce the period of construction, and to improve the quality and workability during the construction. For this reason, the application of modular bridge system, which is assembly of the structural members, is necessary to prepare for near future. Fall of girders can occur at the moment to connect between precast girders during the construction, so appropriate cross beams should be installed to solve the mentioned problem. In this study, understanding the structural characteristics and domestic and international case of cross beam, alternative cross beam system for modular bridge was developed. To inspect the structural characteristics of the alternative system, specimens were built and static loading test was performed. Afterward, the behavior of cross beam interms of joints and load distribution was observed. Experimental results were analyzed and compared with each data. Therefore, the appropriate cross beam system for modular bridge will be chosen and proposed in this paper.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate of the strength and deformation capacity of metallic dampers with the variable slit shape. For this purpose, 12 metallic damper specimens were prepared and shear testing was performed. According to the test results, the S shaped metallic damper with the strut height of 200mm and angle of shows better hysteretic performance than any other specimens. By making a comparison between the yield strength in test and the proposed strength formula, test results shows larger yield strength than calculation method.

Recently there are many long span cable supported bridges like Cable Stayed Bridge and Suspension Bridge already constructed or planned. Reconsidering of proper design wind load of long span bridge is required since the meteorological value based on the data only from 1960s to 1995 has been used when we estimate the wind load for designing long span bridges. In this paper, the research area was confined to western and southern coasts where many long span bridges have constructed. The method of moment and the least-squares method were used to estimate the expected wind speeds of 100 year`s return period for girder bridges and for 200 year`s return period for long span bridges based on the Gumbel`s distribution. As the return-period wind speed on the land face was revised because of recent high speed velocity, the revised return-period wind speed is increased by 17%. Compatibility of return-period wind speed was also evaluated using RMS (Root Mean Square) error method. Aa a result of this paper, the least-squares method is more compatible than the method of moment in the case of western and southern coasts in Korea.

The purpose of this study is the development of V shaped metallic damper, which is superior than slit damper in energy dissipation capacity. For this purpose, 9 metallic damper specimens were prepared and shear testing were performed. According to test results, the V shaped metallic damper with strut height of 270mm and strut angle of shows a better seismic performance than any other specimens. The result of comparison with the yield strength of the dampers using the existing strength formula shows that V type metal dampers were highly evaluated than others within analyzing existing experimental result.
