- Abstract
The study is mainly aimed at exploring and analyzing the impact of demographic and social variables on the forms and levels of violence against women; these include physical, verbal, psychological, familial, and societal forms. The study developed and used a survey to collect the data, which were statistically analyzed to find out the relative effects for each independent variable based on the type of violence practiced on women. The study demonstrated the importance of the demographic variable in identifying the forms of violence, especially those related to pregnancy, women giving birth, the number of live offspring, the number of boys, the number of girls, and the number of deaths among children in the family. The study also showed the importance of other social factors such as the educational level and the social status for each couple as related to the forms of violence against women.
