Introduction: Fatigue is considered a frequent and characteristic feature of sarcoidosis. This study was designed to determine the prevalence of fatigue in patients with sarcoidosis and to determine its potential clinical correlations in relation to symptom severity. Methods: A total of 56 sarcoidosis patients were included. Data on patient demographics, anthropometrics, disease characteristics, pulmonary function tests, 6-min walking distance (6MWD), blood biochemistry and hemogram findings were retrieved from hospital records. Psychometric instruments involved fatigue assessment scale (FAS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Short Form-36 (SF-36) for health-related QOL (HRQOL). Dünya'da halen görülmeye devam eden en büyük pandemisinde yeni coronavirüs salgını (Covid-19) üzerine yapılan hazırlıkların etkilerini derlemeyi amaçladık. Pandemiler yüzyıllardır milyonlarca insanın hastalanmasına, sakat kalmasına ve ölümüne neden olmuştur. Toplumu sağlık, sosyal ve ekonomik olarak derinden etkileyen geçmiş pandemiler sayesinde tekrar olası pandemilere karşı hazırlıklar yapıla gelmiştir. Yapılan hazırlıklar planlandığı gibi gitmeyebilir. Ön görülemeyen durumlara yönelik çaresizlikler oluşabilir. Bu çaresizliklere rağmen pandemi ile mücadelede temel ilkeler yanında uygulamada katkı sağlayabilecek araç mutlaka geçmişten edinilebilir. Pandemi her salgın gibi bir gün sona erecektir. Salgın sonrasında uygulananlar ve uygulanmayanlar değerlendirilecek, gelecek salgınlara geçmişten bir ders olarak kalacaktır., We aimed to compile the effects of the preparations on the new coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19) in the largest pandemic, which is still visible in the world. Pandemics have caused millions of people to become ill, disabled and death for centuries. Thanks to past pandemics that deeply affect the society health, socially and economically, preparations have been made again against possible pandemics. Preparations may not go as planned. Desperation may occur for unforeseen situations. Despite these despair, the tool that can contribute in practice besides the basic principles in combating pandemics can be obtained from the past. Like every pandemic, the pandemic will end one day. Those applied and not implemented after the outbreak will be evaluated and will remain a lesson from the past for future outbreaks.

Objective: The aim of this present study was to investigate the eating attitudes ofsarcoidosis patients.Methods: 50 patients with sarcoidosis and 45 healthy individuals without chronicdisease were included to study. All participants evaluated for metabolic syndrome(MetS) according to National Cholesterol Education Program's Adult Treatment PanelIII (NCEP-ATP III) criteria. Eating Attitude Test (EAT) and Beck DepressionInventory (BDI) were applied to all participants. All participants evaluated formetabolic syndrome (MetS). The cut-off scores of the tests were 30 for BDI and 17for BDI.Results: When sarcoidosis cases and control group were evaluated according to EATand BDI cut-off scores; it was found that the prevalence of deterioration in eatingbehavior was higher in patients with sarcoidosis than healthy controls but theprevalence of depression was not higher (p=0.018, p=0.874 respectively).We foundthat total EAT scores were significantly higher in sarcoidosis patients who has MetS.MetS(-); EAT: 15±7, MetS(+); EAT: 27±10 p

As the chest diseases clinic of DüzceMedical School, we were one of the departments that took an active role in the COVID-19 pandemic. Chest diseases department; It was one of the main branches in the differential diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of COVID-19 cases. In this process, our assistants, who were our hands and arms, were our fighters who were at the forefront of the pandemic process. During the pandemic process, we worked every day with an order consisting of a faculty member and two assistants. We continued our scientific meetingand assistant trainings online so that our training activities are not interrupted. On the one hand, we continued our scientific activities by participating in the studies, planning new research, and writing projects. As a result, when we look back, we have completed this difficult process by further enhancing our sense of solidarity that exists as a department in the pandemic process we experienced for the first time in our lives., Düzce Tıp Fakültesi göğüs hastalıkları kliniği olarak COVID-19 pandemisinde aktif rol alan bölümlerden biriydik. Göğüs hastalıkları bölümü; COVID-19 olgularının ayırıcı tanı, tedavi ve takibinde yer alan ana branşlardandı. Bu süreçte elimiz, kolumuz olan asistanlarımız pandemi sürecinin en ön cephesinde yer alan savaşçılarımızdı. Pandemi sürecinde her gün bir öğretim üyesi ve iki asistandan oluşan bir düzenle çalıştık. Eğitim faaliyetlerimizin de aksamaması adına bilimsel toplantı ve asistan eğitimlerimize online olarak devam ettik. Bir taraftan da bilimsel aktivitelerimize merkeze çalışmalara katılarak, yeni araştırmalar planlayarak, projeler yazarak devam ettik. Sonuç olarak geriye dönüp baktığımızda hayatımızda ilk defa deneyimlediğimiz pandemi sürecinde bölüm olarak var olan dayanışma duygumuzu daha da perçinleyerek bu zor süreci tamamladık.
