The article discusses toolbars offered by Google and Yahoo that users can download for one-stop searches--and Yahoo even offers a library search via the WorldCat database and the expanse of similar webtools into the library realm. The Harris County Public Library (HCPL), Houston, Texas is apparently the first library to do the same. It has a toolbar that allows users to search the library catalog, access the "Teens Know" and "Kids Know It All" sites, and even renew books. The toolbar can be downloaded for free use from the library's website. The toolbar's popularity has allowed HCPL to offer a version for the Firefox web browser.
