Tautenhahn (2002) studied the Lavrentiev regularization method (LRM) to approximate a stable solution for the ill-posed nonlinear equation κ (u) = v , where κ : D (κ) ⊆ X ⟶ X is a nonlinear monotone operator and X is a Hilbert space. The operator in the example used in Tautenhahn's paper was not a monotone operator. So, the following question arises. Can we use LRM for ill-posed nonlinear equations when the involved operator is not monotone? This paper provides a sufficient condition to employ the Lavrentiev regularization technique to such equations whenever the operator involved is non-monotone. Under certain assumptions, the error analysis and adaptive parameter choice strategy for the method are discussed. In this paper, we study a noncoercive nonlinear elliptic operator with a drift term in an unbounded domain. The singular first-order term grows like | E (x) | | ∇ u | , where E (x) is a vector field belonging to a suitable Morrey-type space. Our operator arises as a stationary equation of diffusion–advection problems. We prove existence, regularity, and uniqueness theorems for a Dirichlet problem. In this paper, we first propose a new concept of Z-Z-B spaces, which is a generalization of Z-C-X spaces. Meanwhile, the new concept of the superior cone is introduced. Secondly, we study some new problems for semi-closed 1-set-contractive operators in the Z-Z-B space and obtain some new results. These new theorems are proven by combining partial order theory with fixed point index theory. The goal of the present study is to characterize solutions under a travelling wave formulation to a degenerate Fisher-KPP problem. With the degenerate problem, we refer to the following: a heterogeneous diffusion that is formulated with a high order operator; a non-linear advection and non-Lipstchitz spatially heterogeneous reaction. The paper examines the existence of solutions, uniqueness and travelling wave oscillatory properties (also called instabilities). Such oscillatory behaviour may lead to negative solutions in the proximity of zero. A numerical exploration is provided with the following main finding to declare: the solutions keeps oscillating in the proximity of the null stationary solution due to the high order operator, except if the reaction term is quasi-Lipschitz, in which it is possible to define a region where solutions are positive locally in time. The nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) with a non-Hermitian term is the model for various phenomena in nonlinear open quantum systems. We deal with the Cauchy problem for the nonlocal generalization of multidimensional NLSE with a non-Hermitian term. Using the ideas of the Maslov method, we propose the method of constructing asymptotic solutions to this equation within the framework of semiclassically concentrated states. The semiclassical nonlinear evolution operator and symmetry operators for the leading term of asymptotics are derived. Our approach is based on the solutions of the auxiliary dynamical system that effectively linearizes the problem under certain algebraic conditions. The formalism proposed is illustrated with the specific example of the NLSE with a non-Hermitian term that is the model of an atom laser. We consider a Cauchy problem for differential equations in a Hilbert space X. The problem is stated in a time interval I, which can be finite or infinite. We use a fixed point argument for history-dependent operators to prove the unique solvability of the problem. Then, we establish convergence criteria for both a general fixed point problem and the corresponding Cauchy problem. These criteria provide the necessary and sufficient conditions on a sequence { u n } , which guarantee its convergence to the solution of the corresponding problem, in the space of both continuous and continuously differentiable functions. We then specify our results in the study of a particular differential equation governed by two nonlinear operators. This paper features the search for common fixed points of two operators in the nonlinear metric setting provided by CAT(0) spaces. The analysis is performed for the generalized nonexpansivity condition known as condition (E), Garcia-Falset et al., and relies on the three step iteration procedure S n by Sintunavarat and Pitea. The convergence analysis reveals the approximate solutions as limit points for an iteration sequence, where both the nonexpansive mappings to be analyzed and the specific curved structure of the framework interfere. In this paper, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions for a nonlinear Langevin equation based on Liouville-Caputo-type generalized fractional differential operators of different orders, supplemented with nonlocal boundary conditions involving a generalized integral operator. In this paper, we introduce and analyze the behavior of a nonlinear subdivision operator called PPH, which comes from its associated PPH nonlinear reconstruction operator on nonuniform grids. The acronym PPH stands for Piecewise Polynomial Harmonic, since the reconstruction is built by using piecewise polynomials defined by means of an adaption based on the use of the weighted Harmonic mean. The novelty of this work lies in the generalization of the already existing PPH subdivision scheme to the nonuniform case. We define the corresponding subdivision scheme and study some important issues related to subdivision schemes such as convergence, smoothness of the limit function, and preservation of convexity. The motive of this paper is to discuss the local convergence of a two-step Newton-type method of convergence rate three for solving nonlinear equations in Banach spaces. It is assumed that the first order derivative of nonlinear operator satisfies the generalized Lipschitz i.e., L-average condition. Also, some results on convergence of the same method in Banach spaces are established under the assumption that the derivative of the operators satisfies the radius or center Lipschitz condition with a weak L-average particularly it is assumed that L is positive integrable function but not necessarily non-decreasing. Our new idea gives a tighter convergence analysis without new conditions. The proposed technique is useful in expanding the applicability of iterative methods. Multiresolution representations of data are known to be powerful tools in data analysis and processing, and they are particularly interesting for data compression. In order to obtain a proper definition of the edges, a good option is to use nonlinear reconstructions. These nonlinear reconstruction are the heart of the prediction processes which appear in the definition of the nonlinear subdivision and multiresolution schemes. We define and study some nonlinear reconstructions based on the use of nonlinear means, more in concrete the so-called Generalized means. These means have two interesting properties that will allow us to get associated reconstruction operators adapted to the presence of discontinuities, and having the maximum possible order of approximation in smooth areas. Once we have these nonlinear reconstruction operators defined, we can build the related nonlinear subdivision and multiresolution schemes and prove more accurate inequalities regarding the contractivity of the scheme for the first differences and in turn the results about stability. In this paper, we also define a new nonlinear two-dimensional multiresolution scheme as non-separable, i.e., not based on tensor product. We then present the study of the stability issues for the scheme and numerical experiments reinforcing the proven theoretical results and showing the usefulness of the algorithm. In this paper, we analyze the behavior of a nonlinear reconstruction operator called PPH around discontinuities. This study is carried out in the general case of nonuniform grids, although for some results we restrict to σ quasi-uniform grids. In particular we analyze the numerical order of approximation close to jump discontinuities and the elimination of the Gibbs effects. We show, both theoretically and with numerical examples, that the numerical order is reduced but not completely lost as it is the case in their linear counterparts. This paper is devoted to introducing a nonlinear reconstruction operator, the piecewise polynomial harmonic (PPH), on nonuniform grids. We define this operator and we study its main properties, such as its reproduction of second-degree polynomials, approximation order, and conditions for convexity preservation. In particular, for σ quasi-uniform grids with σ ≤ 4 , we get a quasi C 3 reconstruction that maintains the convexity properties of the initial data. This paper deals with an optimal control problem for a nonlocal model of the steady-state flow of a differential type fluid of complexity 2 with variable viscosity. We assume that the fluid occupies a bounded three-dimensional (or two-dimensional) domain with the impermeable boundary. The control parameter is the external force. We discuss both strong and weak solutions. Using one result on the solvability of nonlinear operator equations with weak-to-weak and weak-to-strong continuous mappings in Sobolev spaces, we construct a weak solution that minimizes a given cost functional subject to natural conditions on the model data. Moreover, a necessary condition for the existence of strong solutions is derived. Simultaneously, we introduce the concept of the marginal function and study its properties. In this paper, we investigate analytic automorphisms of complex topological vector spaces and their applications to linear and nonlinear transitive operators. We constructed some examples of polynomial automorphisms that show that a natural analogue of the Jacobian Conjecture for infinite dimensional spaces is not true. Also, we prove that any separable Fréchet space supports a transitive analytic operator that is not a polynomial. In this paper, we introduce a high order numerical approximation method for convection diffusion wave equations armed with a multiterm time fractional Caputo operator and a nonlinear fixed time delay. A temporal second-order scheme which is behaving linearly is derived and analyzed for the problem under consideration based on a combination of the formula of L 2 − 1 σ and the order reduction technique. By means of the discrete energy method, convergence and stability of the proposed compact difference scheme are estimated unconditionally. In this paper, we present the convergence rate analysis of the modified Landweber method under logarithmic source condition for nonlinear ill-posed problems. The regularization parameter is chosen according to the discrepancy principle. This paper deals with the Tikhonov regularization for nonlinear ill-posed operator equations in Hilbert scales with oversmoothing penalties. One focus is on the application of the discrepancy principle for choosing the regularization parameter and its consequences. Numerical case studies are performed in order to complement analytical results concerning the oversmoothing situation. For example, case studies are presented for exact solutions of Hölder type smoothness with a low Hölder exponent. Moreover, the regularization parameter choice using the discrepancy principle, for which rate results are proven in the oversmoothing case in in reference (Hofmann, B.; Mathé, P. Inverse Probl. 2018, 34, 015007) is compared to Hölder type a priori choices. On the other hand, well-known analytical results on the existence and convergence of regularized solutions are summarized and partially augmented. The foremost aim of this paper is to suggest a local study for high order iterative procedures for solving nonlinear problems involving Banach space valued operators. We only deploy suppositions on the first-order derivative of the operator. Our conditions involve the Lipschitz or Hölder case as compared to the earlier ones. Moreover, when we specialize to these cases, they provide us: larger radius of convergence, higher bounds on the distances, more precise information on the solution and smaller Lipschitz or Hölder constants. Hence, we extend the suitability of them. Our new technique can also be used to broaden the usage of existing iterative procedures too. Making use of the Boyd-Wong fixed point theorem, we establish a new existence and uniqueness result and an approximation process of the fixed point for the product of two nonlinear operators in Banach algebras. This provides an adequate tool for deriving the existence and uniqueness of solutions of two interesting type of nonlinear functional equations in Banach algebras, as well as for developing an approximation method of their solutions. In the given study, we investigate the three-step NTS's ball convergence for solving nonlinear operator equations with a convergence order of five in a Banach setting. A nonlinear operator's first-order derivative is assumed to meet the generalized Lipschitz condition, also known as the κ-average condition. Furthermore, several theorems on the convergence of the same method in Banach spaces are developed with the conditions that the derivative of the operators must satisfy the radius or center-Lipschitz condition with a weak κ-average and that κ is a positive integrable but not necessarily non-decreasing function. This novel approach allows for a more precise convergence analysis even without the requirement for new circumstances. As a result, we broaden the applicability of iterative approaches. The theoretical results are supported further by illuminating examples. The convergence theorem investigates the location of the solution ϵ* and the existence of it. In the end, we achieve weaker sufficient convergence criteria and more specific knowledge on the position of the ϵ* than previous efforts requiring the same computational effort. We obtain the convergence theorems as well as some novel results by applying the results to some specific functions for κ(u). In this paper, we study the semilocal convergence of the multi-point variant of Jarratt method under two different mild situations. The first one is the assumption that just a second-order Fréchet derivative is bounded instead of third-order. In addition, in the next one, the bound of the norm of the third order Fréchet derivative is assumed at initial iterate rather than supposing it on the domain of the nonlinear operator and it also satisfies the local ω -continuity condition in order to prove the convergence, existence-uniqueness followed by a priori error bound. The multiple criteria and multiple constraint level (MC 2 ) model is a useful tool to deal with the decision programming problems, which concern multiple decision makers and uncertain resource constraint levels. In this paper, by regarding the nonlinear MC 2 problems as a class of mixed implicit variational inequalities, we develop an iterative algorithm to solve the nonlinear MC 2 problems through the resolvent operator technique. The convergence of the generated iterative sequence is analyzed and discussed by a calculation example, and the stability of Algorithm 1 is also verified by error propagation. In this paper, we investigate the continuous version of modified iterative Runge–Kutta-type methods for nonlinear inverse ill-posed problems proposed in a previous work. In this article, we study the JF iterative algorithm to approximate the fixed points of a non-linear operator that satisfies condition (E) in uniformly convex Banach spaces. Further, some weak and strong convergence results are presented for the same operator using the JF iterative algorithm. We also demonstrate that the JF iterative algorithm is weakly w 2 G -stable with respect to almost contractions. In connection with our results, we provide some illustrative numerical examples to show that the JF iterative algorithm converges faster than some well-known iterative algorithms. Finally, we apply the JF iterative algorithm to estimate the solution of a functional non-linear integral equation. Morphological operators are nonlinear transformations commonly used in image processing. Their theoretical foundation is based on lattice theory, and it is a well-known result that a large class of image operators can be expressed in terms of two basic ones, the erosions and the dilations. In practice, useful operators can be built by combining these two operators, and the new operators can be further combined to implement more complex transformations. The possibility of implementing a compact combination that performs a complex transformation of images is particularly appealing in resource-constrained hardware scenarios. However, finding a proper combination may require a considerable trial-and-error effort. This difficulty has motivated the development of machine-learning-based approaches for designing morphological image operators. In this work, we present an overview of this topic, divided in three parts. First, we review and discuss the representation structure of morphological image operators. Then we address the problem of learning morphological image operators from data, and how representation manifests in the formulation of this problem as well as in the learned operators. In the last part we focus on recent morphological image operator learning methods that take advantage of deep-learning frameworks. We study a class of nonlinear operators that can be written as the composition of a linear operator and a nonlinear map. We obtain results on fixed point index based on parameters that are related to the definitions of nonlinear spectra. As a particular case, existence of positive solutions for a second-order differential equation with separated boundary conditions is proved. We study a new algorithm for the common solutions of a generalized variational inequality system and the fixed points of an asymptotically non-expansive mapping in Banach spaces. Under some specific assumptions imposed on the control parameters, some strong convergence theorems for the sequence generated by our new viscosity iterative scheme to approximate their common solutions are proved. In this work, we performed an study about the domain of existence and uniqueness for an efficient fifth order iterative method for solving nonlinear problems treated in their infinite dimensional form. The hypotheses for the operator and starting guess are weaker than in the previous studies. We assume omega continuity condition on second order Fréchet derivative. This fact it is motivated by showing different problems where the nonlinear operators that define the equation do not verify Lipschitz and Hölder condition; however, these operators verify the omega condition established. We consider a non-instantaneous system represented by a second order nonlinear differential equation in a Banach space E. We use the family of linear bounded operators introduced by Kozak, Darbo fixed point method and Kuratowski measure of noncompactness. A new set of sufficient conditions is formulated which guarantees the existence of the solution of the non-instantaneous system. Splitting methods have received a lot of attention lately because many nonlinear problems that arise in the areas used, such as signal processing and image restoration, are modeled in mathematics as a nonlinear equation, and this operator is decomposed as the sum of two nonlinear operators. Most investigations about the methods of separation are carried out in the Hilbert spaces. This work develops an iterative scheme in Banach spaces. We prove the convergence theorem of our iterative scheme, applications in common zeros of accretive operators, convexly constrained least square problem, convex minimization problem and signal processing. In this manuscript, a new family of Jacobian-free iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems is presented. The fourth-order convergence for all the elements of the class is established, proving, in addition, that one element of this family has order five. The proposed methods have four steps and, in all of them, the same divided difference operator appears. Numerical problems, including systems of academic interest and the system resulting from the discretization of the boundary problem described by Fisher's equation, are shown to compare the performance of the proposed schemes with other known ones. In this manuscript, we study a system of extended general variational inequalities (SEGVI) with several nonlinear operators, more precisely, six relaxed (α , r) -cocoercive mappings. Using the projection method, we show that a system of extended general variational inequalities is equivalent to the nonlinear projection equations.
