Digital twin is the digital representation of an entity, and it drives Industry 4.0. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of digital twin in the supply chain to help researchers, industry practitioners, and academics to understand the trend, development, and focus of the areas of digital twin in the supply chain. This paper found several key clusters of research, including the designing of a digital twin model, integration of a digital twin model, application of digital twin in quality control, and digital twin in digitalization. In the embryonic stage of research, digital twin was tested in the production line with limited optimization. In the development stage, the importance of digital twin in Industry 4.0 was observed, as big data, machine learning, Industrial Internet of Things, blockchain, edge computing, and cloud-based systems complemented digital twin models. Digital twin was applied to improve sustainability in manufacturing and production logistics. In the current prosperity stage with high annual publications, the recent trends of this topic focus on the integration of deep learning, data models, and artificial intelligence for digitalization. This bibliometric analysis also found that the COVID-19 pandemic drove the start of the prosperity stage of digital twin research in the supply chain. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning is widely used in various industries. At CRYPTO 2019, researchers used deep learning to analyze the block cipher for the first time and constructed a differential neural network distinguisher to meet a certain accuracy. In this paper, a mixture differential neural network distinguisher using ResNet is proposed to further improve the accuracy by exploring the mixture differential properties. Experiments are conducted on SIMON32/64, and the accuracy of the 8-round mixture differential neural network distinguisher is improved from 74.7% to 92.3%, compared with that of the previous differential neural network distinguisher. The prediction accuracy of the differential neural network distinguisher is susceptible to the choice of the specified input differentials, whereas the mixture differential neural network distinguisher is less affected by the input difference and has greater robustness. Furthermore, by combining the probabilistic expansion of rounds and the neutral bit, the obtained mixture differential neural network distinguisher is extended to 11 rounds, which can realize the 12-round actual key recovery attack on SIMON32/64. With an appropriate increase in the time complexity and data complexity, the key recovery accuracy of the mixture differential neural network distinguisher can be improved to 55% as compared to 52% of the differential neural network distinguisher. The first part of the paper examines the escalating problem of employee attrition in specific industries, analyzing the detrimental impact on organizational productivity, morale, and financial stability. The second section focuses on the utilization of AI techniques to predict employee attrition. AI can analyze historical data, employee behavior, and various external factors to forecast the likelihood of an employee leaving an organization. By identifying early warning signs, businesses can intervene proactively and implement personalized retention efforts. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a key enabler technology that recently received significant attention from the scientific community across the globe. It helps transform everyone's life by connecting physical and virtual devices with each other to offer staggering benefits, such as automation and control, higher productivity, real-time information access, and improved efficiency. However, IoT devices and their accumulated data are susceptible to various security threats and vulnerabilities, such as data integrity, denial-of-service, interception, and information disclosure attacks. In recent years, the IoT with blockchain technology has seen rapid growth, where smart contracts play an essential role in validating IoT data. However, these smart contracts can be vulnerable and degrade the performance of IoT applications. Hence, besides offering indispensable features to ease human lives, there is also a need to confront IoT environment security attacks, especially data integrity attacks. Toward this aim, this paper proposed an artificial intelligence-based system model with a dual objective. It first detects the malicious user trying to compromise the IoT environment using a binary classification problem. Further, blockchain technology is utilized to offer tamper-proof storage to store non-malicious IoT data. However, a malicious user can exploit the blockchain-based smart contract to deteriorate the performance IoT environment. For that, this paper utilizes deep learning algorithms to classify malicious and non-malicious smart contracts. The proposed system model offers an end-to-end security pipeline through which the IoT data are disseminated to the recipient. Deep learning, which is a subfield of machine learning, has opened a new era for the development of neural networks. The auto-encoder is a key component of deep structure, which can be used to realize transfer learning and plays an important role in both unsupervised learning and non-linear feature extraction. By highlighting the contributions and challenges of recent research papers, this work aims to review state-of-the-art auto-encoder algorithms. Firstly, we introduce the basic auto-encoder as well as its basic concept and structure. Secondly, we present a comprehensive summarization of different variants of the auto-encoder. Thirdly, we analyze and study auto-encoders from three different perspectives. We also discuss the relationships between auto-encoders, shallow models and other deep learning models. The auto-encoder and its variants have successfully been applied in a wide range of fields, such as pattern recognition, computer vision, data generation, recommender systems, etc. Then, we focus on the available toolkits for auto-encoders. With the development of artificial intelligence, techniques such as machine learning, object detection, and trajectory tracking have been applied to various traffic fields to detect accidents and analyze their causes. However, detecting traffic accidents using closed-circuit television (CCTV) as an emerging subject in machine learning remains challenging because of complex traffic environments and limited vision. Traditional research has limitations in deducing the trajectories of accident-related objects and extracting the spatiotemporal relationships among objects. This paper proposes a traffic accident detection method that helps to determine whether each frame shows accidents by generating and considering object trajectories using influence maps and a convolutional neural network (CNN). The influence maps with spatiotemporal relationships were enhanced to improve the detection of traffic accidents. A CNN is utilized to extract latent representations from the influence maps produced by object trajectories. Car Accident Detection and Prediction (CADP) was utilized in the experiments to train our model, which achieved a traffic accident detection accuracy of approximately 95%. Success in student learning is the primary aim of the educational system. Artificial intelligence utilizes data and machine learning to achieve excellence in student learning. In this paper, we exploit several machine learning techniques to estimate early student performance. Two main simulations are used for the evaluation. The first simulation used the Traditional Machine Learning Classifiers (TMLCs) applied to the House dataset, and they are Gaussian Naïve Bayes (GNB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree (DT), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Random Forest (RF), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis (QDA). The best results were achieved with the MLP classifier with a division of 80% training and 20% testing, with an accuracy of 88.89%. The fusion of these seven classifiers was also applied and the highest result was equal to the MLP. Moreover, in the second simulation, the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) was utilized and evaluated on five main datasets, namely, House, Western Ontario University (WOU), Experience Application Programming Interface (XAPI), University of California-Irvine (UCI), and Analytics Vidhya (AV). The UCI dataset was subdivided into three datasets, namely, UCI-Math, UCI-Por, and UCI-Fused. Moreover, the AV dataset has three targets which are Math, Reading, and Writing. The best accuracy results were achieved at 97.5%, 99.55%, 98.57%, 99.28%, 99.40%, 99.67%, 92.93%, 96.99%, and 96.84% for the House, WOU, XAPI, UCI-Math, UCI-Por, UCI-Fused, AV-Math, AV-Reading, and AV-Writing datasets, respectively, under the same protocol of evaluation. Sunflower is a crop that has many economic values and ornamental usages. However, its production can be hampered due to various diseases such as downy mildew, gray mold, and leaf scars, and it is challenging for farmers to identify disease-prone conditions with traditional approaches. Thus, a computerized model composed of vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning is the demand of the age to detect diseases in plants efficiently. In this paper, we develop a hybrid model with transfer learning (TL) and a simple CNN using a small dataset for detecting sunflower diseases. Out of the eight models tested on the dataset of four different classes (downy mildew, gray mold, leaf scars, and fresh leaf), the VGG19 + CNN hybrid model achieves the best results in terms of precision, recall, F1-score, accuracy, Hamming loss, Matthews coefficient, Jaccard score, and Cohen's kappa metrics. Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) is a group of techniques and evaluations that allows users to understand artificial intelligence knowledge and increase the reliability of the results produced using artificial intelligence. XAI can assist actuaries in achieving better estimations and decisions. This study reviews the current literature to summarize XAI in common actuarial problems. We proposed a research process based on understanding the type of AI used in actuarial practice in the financial industry and insurance pricing and then researched XAI implementation. This includes the development of interactive learning tools and intelligent tutoring systems that can provide feedback to both teachers and students, as well as the use of data analytics to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Deep learning is expanding and continues to evolve its capabilities toward more accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness. The core ingredients for getting its promising results are appropriate data, sufficient computational resources, and best use of a particular algorithm. The application of these algorithms in medical image analysis tasks has achieved outstanding results compared to classical machine learning approaches. Localizing the area-of-interest is a challenging task that has vital importance in computer aided diagnosis. Generally, radiologists interpret the radiographs based on their knowledge and experience. However, sometimes, they can overlook or misinterpret the findings due to various reasons, e.g., workload or judgmental error. This leads to the need for specialized AI tools that assist radiologists in highlighting abnormalities if exist. To develop a deep learning driven localizer, certain alternatives are available within architectures, datasets, performance metrics, and approaches. Informed decision for selection within the given alternative can lead to batter outcome within lesser resources. This paper lists the required components along-with explainable AI for developing an abnormality localizer for X-ray images in detail. Moreover, strong-supervised vs weak-supervised approaches have been majorly discussed in the light of limited annotated data availability. The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on crude oil prices just faded; at this moment, the Russia–Ukraine war brought a new crisis. In this paper, a new application is developed that predicts the change in crude oil prices by incorporating these two global effects. Unlike most existing studies, this work uses a dataset that involves data collected over twenty-two years and contains seven different features, such as crude oil opening, closing, intraday highest value, and intraday lowest value. This work applies cross-validation to predict the crude oil prices by using machine learning algorithms (support vector machine, linear regression, and rain forest) and deep learning algorithms (long short-term memory and bidirectional long short-term memory). The results obtained by machine learning and deep learning algorithms are compared. Recent technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data are essential for supporting healthcare monitoring systems, particularly for monitoring Monkeypox confirmed cases. Infected and uninfected cases around the world have contributed to a growing dataset, which is publicly available and can be used by artificial intelligence and machine learning to predict the confirmed cases of Monkeypox at an early stage. Motivated by this, we propose in this paper a new approach for accurate prediction of the Monkeypox confirmed cases based on an optimized Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) deep network. To fine-tune the hyper-parameters of the LSTM-based deep network, we employed the Al-Biruni Earth Radius (BER) optimization algorithm; thus, the proposed approach is denoted by BER-LSTM. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach when assessed using various evaluation criteria, such as Mean Bias Error, which is recorded as (0.06) using BER-LSTM. To prove the superiority of the proposed approach, six different machine learning models are included in the conducted experiments. In addition, four different optimization algorithms are considered for comparison purposes. The results of this comparison confirmed the superiority of the proposed approach. On the other hand, several statistical tests are applied to analyze the stability and significance of the proposed approach. These tests include one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Wilcoxon, and regression tests. The results of these tests emphasize the robustness, significance, and efficiency of the proposed approach. Climate disasters such as floods and droughts often bring heavy losses to human life, national economy, and public safety. El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is one of the most important inter-annual climate signals in the tropics and has a global impact on atmospheric circulation and precipitation. To address the impact of climate change, accurate ENSO forecasts can help prevent related climate disasters. Traditional prediction methods mainly include statistical methods and dynamic methods. However, due to the variability and diversity of the temporal and spatial evolution of ENSO, traditional methods still have great uncertainty in predicting ENSO. In recent years, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, it has gradually penetrated into all aspects of people's lives, and the climate field has also benefited. For example, deep learning methods in artificial intelligence can automatically learn and train from a large amount of sample data, obtain excellent feature representation, and effectively improve the performance of various learning tasks. It is widely used in computer vision, natural language processing, and other fields. In 2019, Ham et al. used a convolutional neural network (CNN) model in ENSO forecasting 18 months in advance, and the winter ENSO forecasting skill could reach 0.64, far exceeding the dynamic model with a forecasting skill of 0.5. The research results were regarded as the pioneering work of deep learning in the field of weather forecasting. Understanding breast cancer drug response mechanisms can play a crucial role in improving treatment outcomes and survival rates. Existing bioinformatics-based approaches are far from perfect and do not adopt computational methods based on advanced artificial intelligence concepts. Therefore, we introduce a novel computational framework based on an efficient support vector machine (esvm) working as follows: First, we downloaded and processed three gene expression datasets related to breast cancer responding and non-responding to treatments from the gene expression omnibus (GEO) according to the following GEO accession numbers: GSE130787, GSE140494, and GSE196093. Our method esvm is formulated as a constrained optimization problem in its dual form as a function of λ. We recover the importance of each gene as a function of λ, y, and x. Then, we select p genes out of n, which are provided as input to enrichment analysis tools, Enrichr and Metascape. Compared to existing baseline methods, including deep learning, results demonstrate the superiority and efficiency of esvm, achieving high-performance results and having more expressed genes in well-established breast cancer cell lines, including MD-MB231, MCF7, and HS578T. Moreover, esvm is able to identify (1) various drugs, including clinically approved ones (e.g., tamoxifen and erlotinib); (2) seventy-four unique genes (including tumor suppression genes such as TP53 and BRCA1); and (3) thirty-six unique TFs (including SP1 and RELA). The medical sciences are facing a major problem with the auto-detection of disease due to the fast growth in population density. Intelligent systems assist medical professionals in early disease detection and also help to provide consistent treatment that reduces the mortality rate. Skin cancer is considered to be the deadliest and most severe kind of cancer. Medical professionals utilize dermoscopy images to make a manual diagnosis of skin cancer. This method is labor-intensive and time-consuming and demands a considerable level of expertise. Automated detection methods are necessary for the early detection of skin cancer. The occurrence of hair and air bubbles in dermoscopic images affects the diagnosis of skin cancer. This research aims to classify eight different types of skin cancer, namely actinic keratosis (AKs), dermatofibroma (DFa), melanoma (MELa), basal cell carcinoma (BCCa), squamous cell carcinoma (SCCa), melanocytic nevus (MNi), vascular lesion (VASn), and benign keratosis (BKs). In this study, we propose SNC_Net, which integrates features derived from dermoscopic images through deep learning (DL) models and handcrafted (HC) feature extraction methods with the aim of improving the performance of the classifier. A convolutional neural network (CNN) is employed for classification. Dermoscopy images from the publicly accessible ISIC 2019 dataset for skin cancer detection is utilized to train and validate the model. The performance of the proposed model is compared with four baseline models, namely EfficientNetB0 (B1), MobileNetV2 (B2), DenseNet-121 (B3), and ResNet-101 (B4), and six state-of-the-art (SOTA) classifiers. With an accuracy of 97.81%, a precision of 98.31%, a recall of 97.89%, and an F1 score of 98.10%, the proposed model outperformed the SOTA classifiers as well as the four baseline models. The non-transparency of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, particularly in deep learning (DL), poses significant challenges to their comprehensibility and trustworthiness. This study aims to enhance the explainability of DL models through visual analytics (VA) and human-in-the-loop (HITL) principles, making these systems more transparent and understandable to end users. In this work, we propose a novel approach that utilizes a transition matrix to interpret results from DL models through more comprehensible machine learning (ML) models. The methodology involves constructing a transition matrix between the feature spaces of DL and ML models as formal and mental models, respectively, improving the explainability for classification tasks. We validated our approach with computational experiments on the MNIST, FNC-1, and Iris datasets using a qualitative and quantitative comparison criterion, that is, how different the results obtained by our approach are from the ground truth of the training and testing samples. The proposed approach significantly enhanced model clarity and understanding in the MNIST dataset, with SSIM and PSNR values of 0.697 and 17.94, respectively, showcasing high-fidelity reconstructions. Moreover, achieving an F1m score of 77.76% and a weighted accuracy of 89.38%, our approach proved its effectiveness in stance detection with the FNC-1 dataset, complemented by its ability to explain key textual nuances. For the Iris dataset, the separating hyperplane constructed based on the proposed approach allowed for enhancing classification accuracy. Overall, using VA, HITL principles, and a transition matrix, our approach significantly improves the explainability of DL models without compromising their performance, marking a step forward in developing more transparent and trustworthy AI systems. This study delves into the heightened efficiency and accuracy of 11 deep learning models classifying 11 dynamograph classes in the oil production sector. Introducing a novel framework with the Grad–CAM method, we address the "black box" issue, providing transparency in the models' decision-making processes. Our analysis includes a comparative study with human experts, revealing a comprehensive understanding of both machine and human interpretive strategies. Results highlight the notable speed and precision of machine learning models, marking a significant advancement in rapid, reliable dynamograph classification for oil production decision-making. Additionally, nuanced findings in the model's diagnostic accuracy reveal limitations in situations featuring the simultaneous occurrence of multiple pump issues. This underscores the need for additional features and domain-specific logic to enhance discernment and diagnostic precision in complex scenarios. The exploration of qualitative aspects distinguishes interpretive approaches, highlighting strengths and limitations. Machines, driven by algorithmic patterns and data processing, excel in rapid identification, albeit with occasional misclassifications. In contrast, human experts leverage experience and domain-specific knowledge for nuanced interpretation, providing a comprehensive understanding of both quantitative metrics and qualitative nuances. In conclusion, this study not only demonstrates the accelerated and enhanced accuracy of dynamograph classification by machine learning models compared to junior and medior domain experts, but also provides valuable insights into specific features and patterns guiding the decision-making process. This study presents a novel methodology for automating the classification of pediatric ADHD using electroencephalogram (EEG) biomarkers through machine learning and deep learning techniques. The primary objective is to develop accurate EEG-based screening tools to aid clinical diagnosis and enable early intervention for ADHD. The proposed system utilizes a publicly available dataset consisting of raw EEG recordings from 61 individuals with ADHD and 60 control subjects during a visual attention task. The methodology involves meticulous preprocessing of raw EEG recordings to isolate brain signals and extract informative features, including time, frequency, and entropy signal characteristics. The feature selection techniques, including least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regularization and recursive elimination, were applied to identify relevant variables and enhance generalization. The obtained features are processed by employing various machine learning and deep learning algorithms, namely CatBoost, Random Forest Decision Trees, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), and Long Short-Term Memory Networks (LSTMs). The empirical results of the proposed algorithms highlight the effectiveness of feature selection approaches in matching informative biomarkers with optimal model classes. The convolutional neural network model achieves superior testing accuracy of 97.75% using LASSO-regularized biomarkers, underscoring the strengths of deep learning and customized feature optimization. The proposed framework advances EEG analysis to uncover discriminative patterns, significantly contributing to the field of ADHD screening and diagnosis. The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network of interconnected physical devices that are embedded with software, sensors, etc., allowing them to exchange and collect information. Although IoT devices have several advantages and can improve people's efficacy, they also pose a security risk. The malicious actor frequently attempts to find a new way to utilize and exploit specific resources, and an IoT device is an ideal candidate for such exploitation owing to the massive number of active devices. Especially, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks include the exploitation of a considerable number of devices like IoT devices, which act as bots and transfer fraudulent requests to the services, thereby obstructing them. There needs to be a robust system of detection based on satisfactory methods for detecting and identifying whether these attacks have occurred or not in a network. The most widely used technique for these purposes is artificial intelligence (AI), which includes the usage of Deep Learning (DL) and Machine Learning (ML) to find cyberattacks. The study presents a Piecewise Harris Hawks Optimizer with an Optimal Deep Learning Classifier (PHHO-ODLC) for a secure IoT environment. The fundamental goal of the PHHO-ODLC algorithm is to detect the existence of DDoS attacks in the IoT platform. The PHHO-ODLC method follows a three-stage process. At the initial stage, the PHHO algorithm can be employed to choose relevant features and thereby enhance the classification performance. Next, an attention-based bidirectional long short-term memory (ABiLSTM) network can be applied to the DDoS attack classification process. Mistrust, amplified by numerous artificial intelligence (AI) related incidents, is an issue that has caused the energy and industrial sectors to be amongst the slowest adopter of AI methods. Central to this issue is the black-box problem of AI, which impedes investments and is fast becoming a legal hazard for users. Explainable AI (XAI) is a recent paradigm to tackle such an issue. Being the backbone of the industry, the prognostic and health management (PHM) domain has recently been introduced into XAI. However, many deficiencies, particularly the lack of explanation assessment methods and uncertainty quantification, plague this young domain. In the present paper, we elaborate a framework on explainable anomaly detection and failure prognostic employing a Bayesian deep learning model and Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) to generate local and global explanations from the PHM tasks. An uncertainty measure of the Bayesian model is utilized as a marker for anomalies and expands the prognostic explanation scope to include the model's confidence. In addition, the global explanation is used to improve prognostic performance, an aspect neglected from the handful of studies on PHM-XAI. The quality of the explanation is examined employing local accuracy and consistency properties. The elaborated framework is tested on real-world gas turbine anomalies and synthetic turbofan failure prediction data. Seven out of eight of the tested anomalies were successfully identified. In recent years, cardiovascular diseases are on the rise, and they entail enormous health burdens on global economies. Cardiac vibrations yield a wide and rich spectrum of essential information regarding the functioning of the heart, and thus it is necessary to take advantage of this data to better monitor cardiac health by way of prevention in early stages. Specifically, seismocardiography (SCG) is a noninvasive technique that can record cardiac vibrations by using new cutting-edge devices as accelerometers. Therefore, providing new and reliable data regarding advancements in the field of SCG, i.e., new devices and tools, is necessary to outperform the current understanding of the State-of-the-Art (SoTA). This paper reviews the SoTA on SCG and concentrates on three critical aspects of the SCG approach, i.e., on the acquisition, annotation, and its current applications. Moreover, this comprehensive overview also presents a detailed summary of recent advancements in SCG, such as the adoption of new techniques based on the artificial intelligence field, e.g., machine learning, deep learning, artificial neural networks, and fuzzy logic. Fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) is a well-assessed non-destructive test method used in manufacturing for detecting cracks and other flaws of the product under test. This is a critical phase in the mechanical and aerospace industrial sector. The purpose of this work was to present the implementation of an automated inspection system, developing a vision-based expert system to automate the inspection phase of the FPI process in an aerospace manufacturing line. The aim of this process was to identify the defectiveness status of some mechanical parts by the means of images. This paper will present, test and compare different machine learning architectures to perform the automated defect detection on a given dataset. For each test sample, several images at different angles were captured to properly populate the input dataset. In this way, the defectiveness status should be found combining the information contained in all the pictures. In particular, the system was designed for increasing the reliability of the evaluations performed on the airplane part, by implementing proper artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to reduce current human operators' effort. The results show that, for applications in which the dataset available is quite small, a well-designed feature extraction process before the machine learning classifier is a very important step for achieving high classification accuracy. Deep learning is a sub-discipline of artificial intelligence that uses artificial neural networks, a machine learning technique, to extract patterns and make predictions from large datasets. In recent years, it has achieved rapid development and is widely used in numerous disciplines with fruitful results. Learning valuable information from complex, high-dimensional, and heterogeneous biomedical data is a key challenge in transforming healthcare. In this review, we provide an overview of emerging deep-learning techniques, COVID-19 research involving deep learning, and concrete examples of deep-learning methods in COVID-19 diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment management. Deep learning can process medical imaging data, laboratory test results, and other relevant data to diagnose diseases and judge disease progression and prognosis, and even recommend treatment plans and drug-use strategies to accelerate drug development and improve drug quality. Furthermore, it can help governments develop proper prevention and control measures. We also assess the current limitations and challenges of deep learning in therapy precision for COVID-19, including the lack of phenotypically abundant data and the need for more interpretable deep-learning models. In the age of artificial intelligence, the best approach to handling huge amounts of data is a tremendously motivating and hard problem. Among machine learning models, stochastic gradient descent (SGD) is not only simple but also very effective. This study provides a detailed analysis of contemporary state-of-the-art deep learning applications, such as natural language processing (NLP), visual data processing, and voice and audio processing. Following that, this study introduces several versions of SGD and its variant, which are already in the PyTorch optimizer, including SGD, Adagrad, adadelta, RMSprop, Adam, AdamW, and so on. Finally, we propose theoretical conditions under which these methods are applicable and discover that there is still a gap between theoretical conditions under which the algorithms converge and practical applications, and how to bridge this gap is a question for the future. The proportion of the inventory range associated with spare parts is often considered in the industrial context. Therefore, even minor improvements in forecasting the demand for spare parts can lead to substantial cost savings. Despite notable research efforts, demand forecasting remains challenging, especially in areas with irregular demand patterns, such as military logistics. Thus, an advanced model for accurately forecasting this demand was developed in this study. The K-X tank is one of the Republic of Korea Army's third generation main battle tanks. Data about the spare part consumption of 1,053,422 transactional data points stored in a military logistics management system were obtained. Demand forecasting classification models were developed to exploit machine learning, stacked generalization, and time series as baseline methods. Additionally, various stacked generalizations were established in spare part demand forecasting. Artificial intelligence, deep learning, and machine learning are dominant sources to use in order to make a system smarter. Nowadays, the smart speech emotion recognition (SER) system is a basic necessity and an emerging research area of digital audio signal processing. However, SER plays an important role with many applications that are related to human–computer interactions (HCI). The existing state-of-the-art SER system has a quite low prediction performance, which needs improvement in order to make it feasible for the real-time commercial applications. The key reason for the low accuracy and the poor prediction rate is the scarceness of the data and a model configuration, which is the most challenging task to build a robust machine learning technique. In this paper, we addressed the limitations of the existing SER systems and proposed a unique artificial intelligence (AI) based system structure for the SER that utilizes the hierarchical blocks of the convolutional long short-term memory (ConvLSTM) with sequence learning. We designed four blocks of ConvLSTM, which is called the local features learning block (LFLB), in order to extract the local emotional features in a hierarchical correlation. The ConvLSTM layers are adopted for input-to-state and state-to-state transition in order to extract the spatial cues by utilizing the convolution operations. We placed four LFLBs in order to extract the spatiotemporal cues in the hierarchical correlational form speech signals using the residual learning strategy. Furthermore, we utilized a novel sequence learning strategy in order to extract the global information and adaptively adjust the relevant global feature weights according to the correlation of the input features. Finally, we used the center loss function with the softmax loss in order to produce the probability of the classes. The center loss increases the final classification results and ensures an accurate prediction as well as shows a conspicuous role in the whole proposed SER scheme. We tested the proposed system over two standard, interactive emotional dyadic motion capture (IEMOCAP) and ryerson audio visual database of emotional speech and song (RAVDESS) speech corpora, and obtained a 75% and an 80% recognition rate, respectively. This paper provides a comprehensive state-of-the-art investigation of the recent advances in data science in emerging economic applications. The analysis is performed on the novel data science methods in four individual classes of deep learning models, hybrid deep learning models, hybrid machine learning, and ensemble models. Application domains include a broad and diverse range of economics research from the stock market, marketing, and e-commerce to corporate banking and cryptocurrency. Prisma method, a systematic literature review methodology, is used to ensure the quality of the survey. The findings reveal that the trends follow the advancement of hybrid models, which outperform other learning algorithms. The popularity of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) applications in economics has increased exponentially. DRL, through a wide range of capabilities from reinforcement learning (RL) to deep learning (DL), offers vast opportunities for handling sophisticated dynamic economics systems. DRL is characterized by scalability with the potential to be applied to high-dimensional problems in conjunction with noisy and nonlinear patterns of economic data. In this paper, we initially consider a brief review of DL, RL, and deep RL methods in diverse applications in economics, providing an in-depth insight into the state-of-the-art. Furthermore, the architecture of DRL applied to economic applications is investigated in order to highlight the complexity, robustness, accuracy, performance, computational tasks, risk constraints, and profitability. The network system has become an indispensable component of modern infrastructure. DDoS attacks and their variants remain a potential and persistent cybersecurity threat. DDoS attacks block services to legitimate users by incorporating large amounts of malicious traffic in a short period or depleting system resources through methods specific to each client, causing the victim to lose reputation, finances, and potential customers. With the advancement and maturation of artificial intelligence technology, machine learning and deep learning are widely used to detect DDoS attacks with significant success. However, traditional supervised machine learning must depend on the categorized training sets, so the recognition rate plummets when the model encounters patterns outside the dataset. In addition, DDoS attack techniques continue to evolve, rendering training based on conventional data models unable to meet contemporary requirements. Since closed-set classifiers have excellent performance in cybersecurity and are quite mature, this study will investigate the identification of open-set recognition issues where the attack pattern does not accommodate the distribution learned by the model. This research proposes a framework that uses reconstruction error and distributes hidden layer characteristics to detect unknown DDoS attacks. This study will employ deep hierarchical reconstruction nets (DHRNet) architecture and reimplement it with a 1D integrated neural network employing loss function combined with spatial location constraint prototype loss (SLCPL) as a solution for open-set risks. At the output, a one-class SVM (one-class support vector machine) based on a random gradient descent approximation is used to recognize the unknown patterns in the subsequent stage. The model achieves an impressive detection rate of more than 99% in testing. Furthermore, the incremental learning module utilizing unknown traffic labeled by telecom technicians during tracking has enhanced the model's performance by 99.8% against unknown threats based on the CICIDS2017 Friday open dataset. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a highly prevalent condition and most of the people suffering from it receive the diagnosis late in the process. The diagnosis is currently established following an evaluation of the protein biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), brain imaging, cognitive tests, and the medical history of the individuals. While diagnostic tools based on CSF collections are invasive, the tools used for acquiring brain scans are expensive. Taking these into account, an early predictive system, based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches, targeting the diagnosis of this condition, as well as the identification of lead biomarkers becomes an important research direction. In this survey, we review the state-of-the-art research on machine learning (ML) techniques used for the detection of AD and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). We attempt to identify the most accurate and efficient diagnostic approaches, which employ ML techniques and therefore, the ones most suitable to be used in practice. Research is still ongoing to determine the best biomarkers for the task of AD classification. At the beginning of this survey, after an introductory part, we enumerate several available resources, which can be used to build ML models targeting the diagnosis and classification of AD, as well as their main characteristics. In this article, we present an in-depth comparative analysis of the conventional and sequential learning algorithms for electricity load forecasting and optimally select the most appropriate algorithm for energy consumption prediction (ECP). ECP reduces the misusage and wastage of energy using mathematical modeling and supervised learning algorithms. However, the existing ECP research lacks comparative analysis of various algorithms to reach the optimal model with real-world implementation potentials and convincingly reduced error rates. Furthermore, these methods are less friendly towards the energy management chain between the smart grids and residential buildings, with limited contributions in saving energy resources and maintaining an appropriate equilibrium between energy producers and consumers. Considering these limitations, we dive deep into load forecasting methods, analyze their performance, and finally, present a novel three-tier framework for ECP. The first tier applies data preprocessing for its refinement and organization, prior to the actual training, facilitating its effective output generation. The second tier is the learning process, employing ensemble learning algorithms (ELAs) and sequential learning techniques to train over energy consumption data. In the third tier, we obtain the final ECP model and evaluate our method; we visualize the data for energy data analysts. We experimentally prove that deep sequential learning models are dominant over mathematical modeling techniques and its several invariants by utilizing available residential electricity consumption data to reach an optimal proposed model with smallest mean square error (MSE) of value 0.1661 and root mean square error (RMSE) of value 0.4075 against the recent rivals.
