Introduction: The pandemic of COVID-19 has been the very high morbidity and mortality cause worldwide that has also affected the health personnel due to the nature characteristic of its work, many times under insecure conditions and with infection risk. Objective: To characterize health workers affected by covid-19 according to clinical and sociodemographic variables. Method: An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study of 114 health workers with COVID-19 belonging to José Martí Pérez Teaching Polyclinic was carried out in Santiago de Cuba, in 2021. To pick up the information the database of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Department was revised and surveys were elaborated. Results: There was a prevalence of the female sex (78.0 %), aged 30 to 59 (83.3 %). The personal history of hypertension was present in 46.5% of those affected. The loss of smell was the most frequent symptom (53.5 %). Pneumonia (14.9 %) and fatigue (37.7%) were the complication and sequel that prevailed. Doctors represented 50.0% in the occupational profile and the most frequent infection area was the polyclinic (36.8 %). Conclusions: The clinical and sociodemographic characteristics found in health workers with COVID-19 showed that this personnel is vulnerable, reason why biosafety measures should be strictly followed.

A longitudinal and retrospective descriptive study of 87 adolescents that attempted against their lives was carried out from January, 2012 to December, 2014. They belonged to "José Martí Pérez" Teaching Polyclinic inSantiago de Cuba, in order to determine the main risk factors of suicidal attempt in this population group. The female sex (73.5%), the 15-19 years age group (60.9%), the dysfunctional families (72.4%) prevailed and the psychotropic drug consumption was the method most frequently used (51.7%). The main predisposing factors were: hereditary family history (19.5%), domiciliary violence (18.3%), as well as behavioral dysfunctions and depressions (17.2%).

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y longitudinal de 53 adultos hipertensos pertenecientes al consultorio médico No. 55 del Policlínico Universitario "José Martí Pérez" de Santiago de Cuba, desde febrero hasta septiembre de 2012, con vistas a demostrar la efectividad de la auriculopuntura en el tratamiento de estos pacientes. Se halló predominio de la hipertensión arterial ligera (69,6 %) y del sexo femenino (47,1 %). Luego de aplicada la terapia disminuyeron los síntomas más frecuentes: la cefalea, de 50,9 a 5,6 % y el insomnio, de 20,7 a 1,8 %. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron la efectividad de este tratamiento no convencional en 92,4 % de los afectados, a la vez que se logró 96,3 % de satisfacción con el proceder empleado

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y longitudinal de 76 fumadores activos, pertenecientes al consultorio médico No. 55 del Policlínico Universitario "José Martí Pérez" de Santiago de Cuba, desde septiembre de 2011 hasta abril de 2012, con vistas a demostrar la efectividad de la auriculopuntura en el tratamiento de estos pacientes. Se utilizaron los puntos auriculopunturales: Shenmen, lengua, ansiolítico y amígdala. Luego de aplicada la terapia disminuyeron la inapetencia (25,0 %) y la ansiedad (17,1 %). Del mismo modo, 28,9 % de los integrantes de la serie abandonaron este hábito y 59,2 % redujeron la cantidad de cigarrillos consumidos por día. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron la efectividad de este tratamiento no convencional.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo longitudinal y retrospectivo de 87 adolescentes, quienes atentaron contra sus vidas, desde enero del 2012 hasta diciembre del 2014, pertenecientes al Policlínico Docente "José Martí Pérez" de Santiago de Cuba, a fin de determinar los principales factores de riesgo de intento suicida en este grupo poblacional. Predominaron las féminas (73,5 %), el grupo etario de 15-19 años (60,9 %), las familias disfuncionales (72,4 %) y la ingestión de psicofármacos como el método empleado con mayor frecuencia (51,7 %). Los principales factores predisponentes fueron: antecedentes familiares hereditarios (19,5 %), violencia domiciliaria (18,3 %), así como trastornos de conducta y depresiones (17,2 %)

The case report of a 9 months of age infant assisted in the emergency room of "José Martí" Teaching Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba is presented, due to exanthematic and erythematous lesions in the skin, with bladders around the mouth, as well as in hands, legs and both feet, besides fever. The mouth, hand and foot disease was diagnosed, keeping in mind the clinic and the increment of this disorder transmitted by the Coxsackie virus in the municipality, reason why he was admitted at home, with medical supervision and followed by the family nurse and physician who indicated the measures for the health control that should be known and applied in the family to decrease the risk of infection.
