1. Application of ferromagnetic composite in different planar tunable microwave devices. Author Salahun, E., Tanné, G., Quéffélec, P., LeFloc'h, M., Adenot, A. -L., and Acher, O. Subjects MICROWAVE devices, ELECTRIC filters, ELECTRIC switchgear, PHASE shifters, ELECTRONIC equipment, MAGNETIC fields Abstract In this paper, several microwave devices using a ferromagnetic composite demonstrate great tunability under weak magnetizing field conditions. Indeed, a tunable bandstop of 50% tunability and phase shifters of 35°/dB figure of merit around 3 GHz and 7.8°/dB in the X-band are obtained when a 250 Oe dc magnetic field is applied. Moreover, a magnetic switch near 25 dB isolation and less than 1 dB insertion losses is realized. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 30: 272–276, 2001. 2. p-i-n diode phase shifter in waveguide structure. Author Parnes, Michael and Vendik, Orest Subjects WAVEGUIDE antennas, PHASE shifters, FABRICATION (Manufacturing), DIODES, ELECTRIC lines Abstract ABSTRACT A calculation procedure is proposed to design the p-i-n diode phase shifter based on the waveguide transmission line. The laboratory sample of five-bit phase shifter designed using the proposed procedure was fabricated and measured at 32-36 GHz. It provides the following phase shifts bits: 11°, 22°, 45°, 90°, 180°. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
