ABSTRACT A full-wave simulation tool based on the method of moments is developed and validated by experiments to study the feasibility of wireless power transmission in rectangular cavity that emulates satellite interior. ABSTRACT This letter demonstrates a wireless power transmission scheme based on distributed retro-reflective beamforming experimentally. A marching-on-in-time (MOT)-based scheme for the analysis of transient scattering from closed surfaces characterized by an impedance boundary condition (IBC) is described. The time-domain integral equations being solved involve no analytical approximation and are free of spurious solutions. A method for modeling singular electric currents near conducting edges within marching-on-in-time (MOT) simulators is presented. The use of singular basis functions in MOT simulators presents unique challenges not encountered in frequency-domain implementations. A new algorithm is presented for analyzing scattering from two-dimensional (2-D) nonlinear penetrable objects that are illuminated by transient transverse magnetic (TM) polarized fields. The proposed scheme solves a time-domain volume-integral inequation (TDVIE) using a marching-on-in-time (MOT) technique. Structures composed of two photonic crystal slabs are fabricated, measured, and simulated around 13.5 GHz.Experimental and simulated results are in good agreement. The transmission spectrum is highly sensitive to the distance between the two slabs, which demonstrates that the structures under investigation can be used to achieve displacement sensors. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
