As the core of reproducing the real nonlinear phenomena of traffic congestion, the investigation of car-following models, which take into account human factors, has consistently assumed a central role within the domain of transportation science. Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that prior studies have invariably employed a fixed value for driver reaction time to stimuli, whereas it is imperative to recognize the dynamic nature of this parameter, closely associated with the instantaneous vehicle speed. To address this issue, this paper constructs a dynamic sensitivity coefficient (DSC), and further develops a nonlinear human factoring car-following model to reveal the relation between the reaction time and the current speed. Firstly, the linear critical stability condition and the mKdV equation of the model are derived by the linear stability analysis and kink–antikink solution analytic method, respectively. Then, the numerical experiments are conducted to demonstrate that the proposed model is more practical and can reproduce the real driving behavior and phenomena. Nowadays, scientists try to make the structure of fractal geometry for applications in the field of electromagnetism, which has led to the development of new innovative antenna devices. Non-integer dimensional space (NDS) is useful to describe the concept of fractional space in fractal structure for real phenomenon of electromagnetic wave propagation. In this work, we investigate effects of NDS and normalized frequency on modulational instability (MI) gain in lossless left-handed metamaterials (LHM). We derive the nonlinear Schrödindiger equation (NLSE) with non-integer transverse laplacian. By means of linear stability analysis method, MI gain expression is also determined. Different forms of figures are obtained due to the signs of group velocity dispersion (GVD) and defocusing/focusing nonlinearity. We show how the increasing value of the normalized frequency enhances the amplitude as well as the bandwidth of MI gain, and waves are more unstable due to non-integer dimension. An extended lattice hydrodynamic model with time delay is proposed under non-lane discipline. We try to grasp the impacts of the non-lane discipline of the considered lattice sites. Linear stability analysis of the proposed model is executed and the stability criterion is obtained. Using the reductive perturbation method, we investigate nonlinear analysis of the proposed model and derive the mKdV equation and its solution, which could reveal the propagation of density waves. We analyze the effect of time delay, the ratio of lane deviation and the control coefficient on the stability of traffic flow via numerical experiments. We find that those indices play an important role in the stability of traffic flow. The longer the time delay, the more unstable the system becomes. Also, the ratio of lane deviation and the control coefficient is able to more quickly dissipate the traffic congestions occurring in traffic flow. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we deduced a macroscopic traffic model on the uphill and downhill slopes by employing the transformation relation from microscopic variables to macroscopic ones based on a microscopic car-following model considering the velocity difference between adjacent vehicles. The angle 𝜃 of the uphill and downhill and the gravitational force have a great impact upon the stability of traffic flow. The linear stability analysis for macroscopic traffic model yielded the stability condition. The Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived by nonlinear analysis and the corresponding solution to the density wave near the neutral stability line is obtained. By using the upwind finite difference scheme for simulation, the spatiotemporal evolution patterns of traffic flow on the uphill and downhill are attained. The unstable region is shrunken with slope of the gradient increasing and backward-traveling density waves gradually decrease and even disappear on uphill. With the increase of vehicles, traffic congestion has become a prominent problem. Environmental pollution, energy waste and even traffic accidents are easily caused by congestion. Nowadays, with the help of V2V and V2I communications, real-time interaction of vehicle information can be achieved. Vehicles can easily get information about other vehicles. In reality, a driver looks at the following car (i.e. upstream traffic condition) as well as the preceding car while driving. However, the effect of upstream condition is rarely analyzed. In the paper, a term describing the upstream traffic condition is added in Nagatani's model. The effect of the upstream traffic condition to linear stability is obtained by applying the perturbation method. Nonlinear stability equations, such as the mKdV equation, are also derived. Theoretical results of linear stability and nonlinear stability are shown intuitively through numerical simulations. Traffic congestion has attracted considerable attention in modern society. Many researchers have proposed tremendous traffic flow models. These models can be divided into microscopic model, mesoscopic model and macroscopic model. With the progress of technology, it is possible to get the information of the preceding vehicles, i.e. the downstream traffic condition. Drivers can adjust their driving behaviors according to the downstream condition. This mechanism has been considered in microscopic model, and it is found that this mechanism can not only stabilize the traffic, but also bring about some new phenomena, such as synchronized traffic pattern. In the macroscopic model, what will the traffic flow be after considering the mechanism? In this paper, a term describing the downstream traffic condition is added in Nagatani's single-lane lattice model. Through theoretical study and numerical simulation, it can be found that traffic is more stable when the downstream traffic condition is considered. Besides, the modified model can reproduce the soliton wave, kink wave properly. Moreover, the amplitude and frequency of density wave with different influence forms of the front lattices on the current lattice are almost the same as found to reflect the different influence forms do not have significant effect on the stability. The existing car-following models of connected vehicles commonly lack experimental data as evidence. In this paper, a Gray correlation analysis is conducted to explore the change in driving behavior with safety messages. The data mining analysis shows that the dominant factor of car-following behavior is headway with no safety message, whereas the velocity difference between the leading and following vehicle becomes the dominant factor when warning messages are received. According to this result, an extended car-following model considering the impact of safety messages (IOSM) is proposed based on the full velocity difference (FVD) model. The stability criterion of this new model is then obtained through a linear stability analysis. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to verify the theoretical analysis results. Both analytical and simulation results show that traffic congestion can be suppressed by safety messages. In this paper, a modified microscopic traffic flow model accounting for the optimal velocity has been proposed. Different with previous models, drivers' response ability and the maximum of accelerations are considered in the term of the optimal velocity. The effect of parameters in the term of the optimal velocity on bifurcations in the rotary traffic is studied here. Besides, the evolvement of bifurcations in the system is calculated by performing numerical simulation experiments. Moreover, the linear stability analysis of the proposed model is presented. A hybrid traffic-flow model [Wang-Zhou-Yan (WZY) model] is brought out in this paper. In WZY model, the global equilibrium velocity is replaced by the local equilibrium one, which emphasizes that the modification of vehicle velocity is based on the view of safe-driving rather than the global deployment. In the view of safe-driving, the effect of drivers' estimation is taken into account. Moreover, the linear stability of the traffic model has been performed.
