"VOX," is an independent newspaper written by and for Atlanta teenagers. It is one of a growing number of city youth papers that have been popping up across the country, bringing their readers the 411 on everything from contraception to homelessness to restrictive school dress codes. A University of Iowa survey of 149 city high school newspapers found that between 1983 and 1993 nineteen folded, mostly for lack of funding. Suzanne Rabe was a first-year student at the Arizona State University in 1971 when she came across "New Times," a newspaper started a year earlier by a group of students and dropouts to protect the war in Vietnam. One day, Rabe was working at the campus library when Michael Lacey walked in and introduced himself as a college dropout. anymore. From its rebellious roots, New Times Inc. has grown to a national chain that owns eight alternative newsweeklies stretching from Miami to San Francisco, plus an advertising group that represents six other papers. Though these letters grew out of the historical and literary projects of the writers, they throw much light upon a great variety of subjects between 1779 and 1798.

The Committee on Indian Currency and Exchange in Great Britain has recently issued a report which has in substance been adopted by the India Office. The recommendations of the Committee aim to restore stability to the rupee and to maintain the convertibility of the Indian paper currency.
