Abstract

The article discusses a research paper on expression of melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM) on pathogenic T cells that enter the central nervous system (CNS). It references a study by Catherine Larochelle et al., published in an issue of "Brain". The study shows that MCAM is expressed by a subset of inflammatory T cells and endothelial cells and facilitates T-cell entry into the CNS during multiple sclerosis.
