The article reports on the successful destruction of the chemical weapons supply of Libya, built up under the administration of the late dictator Muammar al-Qaddafi. Details are given explaining how shared activities by Libya and the United States covertly eliminated the weapon supply between November 2013 and February 2014. Commentary is also offered comparing and contrasting the Libyan experience with ongoing efforts to destroy the chemical weapon supply of Syria during its civil war.
