The article reports that the commercial crime insurance held by the Roslyn school district on Long Island, New York, which should have protected taxpayers from the thefts committed by former business affairs administrator Pamela C. Gluckin, may not help because the insurance claim was filed too late. At first, the Board of Education decided against filing a claim or making public disclosures in order to avoid publicity. This compromised the district's ability to collect from its insurance carriers. Three of the four insurance companies have declined to pay claims.
