Six Golden Eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) captured in Montana in late winter and early spring were tagged with satellite-tracked, Platform Transmitter Terminals (PTT) mounted on central tail feathers to evaluate tail-mounted systems as alternatives to backpack mounts, which may have negative effects on survival and behavior. Eagles were tracked to summer ranges in Montana, Alberta, British Columbia, and Alaska. Vernal migrations of Golden Eagles averaged 2,497 km, consuming an average 20 days to reach summer ranges. Eagles were tracked on summer range an average of 109 days. Mean 95% Kernel Density Estimate (KDE) summer range area for five eagles wearing Doppler shift PTTs was 2,151 km2 (SD = 3,254), much smaller than one eagle that wore a GPS PTT (91,959 km²). Summer range area was related to number of days tracked in the range (rs < 0.77, P = 0.07). Two eagles were tracked on autumn migration a maximum of 4,167 km. Endof- movement of PTTs based on activity sensors showed juvenile/immature eagles tended to wear PTTs longer ( = 216 da) than subadult/adult eagles ( = 134 da). The Western Bird Banding Association (WBBA) and Arizona Field Ornithologists (AZFO) will be hosting their joint annual meeting in Tucson, Arizona from September 26-29, 2024. The meeting aims to bring together individuals interested in bird conservation to share knowledge and experiences. The event will feature presentations, workshops, social engagements, and networking opportunities. The article reports on the highlights of the Fall 2011 Atlantic Flyway Review in Region III of the Eastern Bird Banding Association. Members reported a poor banding season, with the number of birds captured at the seven stations that operated both in 2010 and 2011 declined about 30 percent. The article presents a study on the migrating routes for South Carolina ruby-throated hummingbirds (RTHU) or Archilochus colubris during the fall season. The study used various methods which include capturing, banding, and marking of RTHU at the Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History near York, South Carolina to determine their exact routes. The results showed that RTHUs flew southwest of York such as in Loganville, Georgia and Cameron, Louisiana before migrating.

The article focuses on the situation of bird banding of Foreman's Branch Bird Observatory in Chino Farms in Chestertown, Maryland in fall season. The patterns of weather in fall season were not good for the breeding of birds in the area. Species like Indigo Bunting and Common Yellowthroat were down in numbers in 2009. A Great Egret species was the new species banded in the station. Moreover, there were two Red-tailed Hawks and nine Warbling Vireos record high in fall season banding.
