This article presents information related to the papers of litterateur Charles James Fox whose papers were passed to his nephew, Henry Richard Vassall Fox, third baron of Holland (1773-1840), who intended to write a biography of his uncle who was assisted in this by John Allen, his physician and companion, who published a collection of Fox memoirs under his own name. The Fox papers were then bequeathed to his son, George Macaulay Trevelyan, who consulted them in writing his "Lord Grey and the Reform Bill (1920)."
