The article focuses on the establishment and successful management of nursing centers. Nursing centers are managed by nurses and staffed by clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners. These advanced practice nurses function and/or are certified as defined by the state nurse practice act where those nurses are licensed to practice. The clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner manages and coordinates the primary care of each client and makes referrals to other health care specialists when their services are needed. Fees are charged for all services rendered.
