The article presents a study to find out what symptoms occur immediately prior to eclamptic seizures on women in Tanzania. It states that data were collected on those in the same center from May 1, 2007 to April 30, 2008, both through a standard questionnaire administered, as well as through observation. It reports that of the 3,267 deliveries made, 46 had eclampsia, about 1.4%. The most common prior symptoms cited were headaches among 80%, accompanied by visual disturbance among 45%.
