The authors discuss the issue of whether femtosecond laser is more efficiently used inside or outside the operating room (OR). Topics covered include the implementation of femtosecond-cataract procedures requiring physical changes to a surgery center and how femtosecond laser in the OR has minimal effect of pupil size shrinkage because the transition to the phaco part of the procedure is immediate.
