Information about several papers discussed at a conference sponsored by the Wilmer Eye Institute at the Johns Hopkins University in Maryland on reviewing information collected by insurance companies and documenting appropriate levels of service in the U.S. is presented. Topics include insurers who try to decrease their medical costs, physicians' style on evaluation and management (E&M), and avoiding audit for new patients. The conference featured Dr. John T. Thompson, a retina specialist.
