Abstract: We propose a way to prepare W state among atomic ensembles via stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) technique. The atomic ensembles are trapped in spatially separated cavities collectively linked to another cavity trapping a single atom by optical fibers. Our strictly numerical simulations show that, the atomic spontaneous emission, the cavity decay and the fiber loss are efficiently suppressed by the engineering adiabatic passage. The method can be generalized to prepare W state among any number of atomic ensembles. We believe that our proposal will promote development of quantum teleportation, especially quantum state engineering of multi-target-qubit collectively controlled by a qubit. Abstract: First, the kinetic investigation of UF6 +HCl reaction and the isotopic selectivity under CO laser irradiation is performed. On this investigation, the kinetics of UF6 +HCl reaction by using an intracativity CO laser and CO2 laser irradiation system, and the isotopic selectivity for this process are studied theoretically. It is found that under the resonant CO laser and CO2 laser irradiations, the laser-catalyzed reaction rate can increase, and a good selectivity can be achieved. The uranium isotope separation factors β calculated are about 2.44∼4.05 at laser intensity 50∼100Wcm−2 and temperature 235K. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The zincblende In x Ga1−x N alloys are studied by numerical analysis based on first-principles calculations. A 64-atom supercell is used to model these alloys. Our results indicate that the ternary In x Ga1−x N alloys have an average band gap bowing parameter of 2.08eV. The simulation results also suggest that the composition-dependent bowing parameter of the ternary In x Ga1−x N alloys can be expressed by a third-order polynomial equation, b(x)=−4.7422 x 3 +6.9592 x 2 −2.3136 x +2.1301 (eV).
