The article presents the author's opinion on environmental conservation in Africa. The author states that environment conservation in Africa is often seen as a hindrance to economic prosperity as it resists the poor to improve their livelihoods. He states that conservation there means different thing to different people like defending biodiversity is most important to the environmental activists while Governments and public are not convinced with its merits or they have other priorities.
